Presumably because he thought Hopkins' explanation would convince everyone he wasn't racist. For me, at least, it did the opposite.
I agree. But I know you understand that fighters, especially ones with a vested interest in the promotion, will say and do some strange things to hype a fight.
If you don't like it, feel free to pole jock Calzaghe in one of the many pro Calzaghe threads floating around. There's plenty to keep you busy.:yep On the real though, I still keep seeing people incorrectly labeling Nard as a racist. He recently shed some more light behind is statement, and I felt it was appropriate to share. It's perfectly fine to continually tear someone down on this forum. However, when you try to build them up, people like yourself come around to rain on the parade.
This thread is not about Hopkins or the fight. It's about Big Reg's theories of racism and his attempt at being an apologist for Hopkins, as a person...this thread should really be in the lounge, I think. However, if these issues are to be discussed, it doesn't help that some posters call everyone who disagrees with them a crybaby or a ***.
That's because you don't even know what racism is or what it means for a person to be racist. You also tried to imply that Hopkins is worse than a Nazi.
Sad, I ask this question everytime this subject gets brought up....yet I never get an answer.... Gee, I wonder why??? Oh well, consider this a BUMP!
Decebal firstly like BigReg has laready said, you need to know the difference between the meanings of prejudice and racism because your getting them mixed. You also need to look atthe context of the whole show...remember Hopkins had intially walked away from the conversation without using any racial slurs before winking at a reporter and a white one at that before returning to the conversation)...now if he had said in the original heated conversation: I will never loose to a HONKY, then straigh-up Hopkins is a deep-rooted racist (which you have pretty much pinned on Hopkins), but he didn't...I wish you would understand this but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt with your confusion due to English not being your first language! ...I would also defend any white boxers if the table were reversed but as long as there was no history of racist language from them in the past (as has been the case with Hopkins-C'mon, Decebal did you not see the support/passion this guy had for your boy Hatton at ringside against PBF!!!)
Nobody was talking about the topic, you are none to bright if you thought that Bernards statement would convince anybody of anything one way or the other and that it would not just spark a nearly dead debate I dont care about his statment anymore I would like to talk about the fight. I shall post in the threads I want to thanks, :smoke.
Shut your mouth crybaby ***! If the crybaby *** shoe fits, then wear it on your crybaby *** glittered foot. Go twirl around under the disco ball in your crybaby *** garage.
