Trinidad and De La Hoya are small men so why did he fight them???

He lost comfortably to Roy Jones Junior and lost twice to Taylor

For his 20th title defence he ran from Eastman for 12 rounds and got booed

Rabbit punched Echols, headbutted Ronald Winky Wright and drew with some no name Ecuadorian that put him on his ass

Why is he considered a legend?? Just cos he is old???

The great names on his record were either Welterweights or guys that beat him up...plus his style means even at 43 he has very few fans compared to many on the pound for pound list.

Joppy, Allen and Tarver are no better than the likes of Kessler, Brewer, Reid and certainly not Eubank so why do people give Joe Calzaghe a hard time about his past fights??

And to think he called himself the best ever last week...what a joke

He also said it was minus 20 degrees in England when Setanta asked him to do a promotional shot.....liar and a joker

Not to mention a racist that never knows when to shut up

He reckons he's gonna "execute the Brit" ???

    We'll see.........

I always felt the same way. Some people believe the hype, though, same with Mayweather. If you tell people something enough they will start to believe it. In some ways these guys are opportunists. They are not worthy of being ATG's or legends.

Cause every of them would stop Calzaghe at the time BHop was fighting them.

They are much better. In fact Tarver is better than all 3 combined.

Well, its easy to systematically degrade anyones record if you try hard enough. True, Benard at times seems arrogent beyond reason, and almost primitive in thought and deed. He's done his share of Cherry Picking too. But he is still a formidable force and certainly one of the best today. He's tricky and hits hard enough to trouble most.
I wouldn't overlook him against anyone.

Hoya was a MASSIVE fighter against the opposition he chose to fight for years.

Every bit as guilty of that as, say, Arturo Gatti.

If you're going to discredit Hopkin's with actually stopping ODLH, the only man to ever do it at that, than a large part of Oscar's career, including multiple belts, is null and void.

I guess it won't mean much when/if Calzaghe beats him then.

Ha ha ha ha ha yeah right ok ha ha ha ha ha oh man please stop it I'm gonna hurt myself ha ha ha ha .

Bit of a well tread topic this but I agree with what you are saying. Hopkins status as "Legend" is a figment of the US medias imagination he is a good champ and a tough guy but no legend. Its the same with Tarver and Winky Wright that have somehow late in their careers become all time greats of the ring ! Balls I'm afraid

Also agree with parts of this the terms " runner " "bum" and "coward" are thrown about way to casualy on here. Hopkins is a good champion I would never dispute that all I'm saying is he is not what i would class as a legend. One thing I will say though is DLH was looking for a way out , it was all over his face.

ha ha ha ha nice !

I agree that if beat Calz and RJJ I would have to re-classify him.

Dont see him getting passed Joe though and I think even this Roy would have too much for him.

All that said personality wise I f**kin love Hopkins he's a cartoon you always get some entertainment whenever he opens his mouth ( and he isn't a racist )

Wrong on all counts. It's nice to see that you have taken care about your spelling in the last two posts though. I'm proud of you sunshine.

God I laughed hard when I read this post.

You think DLH and TRINIDAD would stop Calzaghe ?

I'd bet all the money I had that Calzaghe would beat DLH and Trinidad at any point during their careers and in the future.

You think Tarver is better than Kessler and Reid ? I wouldnt even say he was better than Brewer.

Your just another dumbass clueless American poster who has no idea about boxing.
