I dont understand why you guys run down fighters before they fight your favorite then as soon as the fight is over, if your guy wins you then start to build the guy back up. Before the fight its "Oh he is a bum" or "He is a hype job" , after the fight its "Oh he was Great, and my guy beat him at his best". If you guys just realized how stupid that make you sound you would stop doing it.

Hopkins is or never has been a runner, but if it makes you feel better then go ahead and run him down. But come april 20th you clowns make sure to show your mugs so we can talk about HOW much Hopkins ran................Over Calzaghe that is:good

Some of Hagler and Monzon's best wins were against smaller men too, but people forget that when talking about Hopkins.

Alot of these new posters like yourself are trash. Calling an ATG like Hopkins a runner with a padded record should be a banable offense here.

 

Hopkins is a great fighter but not a legend. He had his chance to be a legend when he fought RJJ, but he got beat up and absolutely schooled. He has not done anything since then to be considered a legend. The challenge in the Trinidad and Dela Hoya fights is more them because they have a size disadvantage and have not campaigned at middleweight as long as BHOP did.

 

Hopkins is an all time great and falls somewhere in the top 40-50 boxers of all time. Don't try to dispute his greatness - you'll only end up making youself look bad.

Wrong. If Tito and Oscar would have been true middleweights they still would have still lost to a technician like Hopkins. Fighters like Hopkins would always give Tito fits and Hopkins is better than Oscar in almost every department. Hopkins is simply a better boxer than these two period.

JC is no where near his prime and before the hand problems he was a KO artist. but even after that he's still gotten KO'S slapping guy's so he must slapp pretty hard HUH. sorry but JOe whoops B-hop at any point in time remeber b-hop use to fight differently when he was younger he was nore of a brawler up to a few fights before the tito fight.

What hate for Hops. So much has been said already but let say something
about the Tito and Oscar fights. I agree the Golden girl was too small but Tito
was a legit MW when Hopkins whupped him. I dont remember anybody saying
Tito was too small after he fcked Joppy up in 5 rds. Some people were even
looking past Hopkins and towards Jones as Tito's future opponent. Don King,
HBO, and Madison Square execs were all ready to give Felix that S Ray Robinson statue. Trinidad was the still the 2nd best MW in my opinion after
Hopkins broke him.
