Jones was basically p4p #1 from 94 - 04 so I can see why people say he had a better career than Hops but for the past 5 years Jones has been damaged and Hops can beat Jones in a rematch until he's fifty. Also Hops has a better resume IMO.

He will be viewed as a modern day Archie Moore. Maybe not the most naturally talented guy to lace 'em up, but a guy who worked hard and MADE himself into a great fighter, and as a result had amazing longevity.

Hopkins rep will only grow and grow in the years to come, imo.

WTF?!PBF is not even in the run for being the best fighter of the last 25 years. Fighters like James Toney, BHopkins, Roy Jones rank above him. I agree, BHOP ranks above Jones and Toney rank right now but if Toney manages to get another heavyweight championship title, he takes over.

Have you ever seen Archie fight?

Toney's style has a lot similarities with Archie, Hopkins none. Toney is a true old school fighter and the modern day Archie Moore. BHOP is a guy who was exceptionally competitive in his later ages .

A truly quality fighter but too protected and overrated a bit ( esp in the US )

Roy was better ( at his best )
    Flloyd was better
    Wittaker was better
    Lennox was better
and wether it was a narrow victory or not Calz beat him

A true great though . no argument

    I disagree
I think the fact that hops prime was longer and roy started to fade as soon as he hit his 30s and his freakish natural speed started to slow, he started his decline
    hop is a master technician

I would definately give Hopkins that distinction. Roy was good and all, but I can't put him ahead of Hopkins when he spent his time beating up civil servants, fighting overmatched mandos, taking steroids, and getting knocked out by guys Hopkins dominated.

IMO, Hopkins deserved a close decision against Calzaghe.
