Whitaker > Pac > Jones > Hopkins/DLH but Super Judah's better then all of em' cuzz according to Kellerman he's "Whitaker + punching power"
PacMan needs Hatton, Mosley and/or Mayweather to come close to Hopkins' resume, or Floyd needs Mosley, Cotto, Pac and/or Williams, Bernard's run is simply stunning. Divisional domination (MW, all 4 titles, 21 defenses, untouched for 10 years), P4P-er killing (Tito KO, DLH KO, Tarver domination, Winky UD, Pavlik domination), only close/debated losses in the last 15 years (Taylor, P4P#2 Calzaghe), fantastic technical skills, unprecedented fountain of youth (Pavlik schooling at 44). And there are still other possibilities like Adamek-Jones winner or something as good as that. All hail Hopkins! What a fighter! Best of last 25? I don't know about that, but very possible. Best of this decade, no doubt.
Anyways AT, there are plenty of fighters i dont like (Floyd, Hatton, Klitschkos) but i dont HATE them either, you sound like you got some kind of personal grudge against Floyd.
his resume is no doubt great, but you gotta read between the lines as well, DLH, Winky, Pavlik, Tito, he caught um' all movin up in weight, while Pac's been the target for the boxing bullies looking to pick on the smaller man, plus i think his resume is just better EMx2, MABx2, JMM, ODLH, and a swarm of legit contenders and champs, but of course if i point out the fact that Hopkins was fighting smaller men, i gotta point out the fact that some of Pac's opposition was past there prime, but all in all, when you give and take from both, i say Pac still stands well in front of Hopkins, even with Hopkins longevitity, i think EM + MAB + JMM + ODLH are better wins then Tito + DLH + Tarver + Winky
All of these guys were favored to beat Hopkins(Tito and Pavlik were significant favorites). All 3 were top 10 p4p fighters as well. Add in the Tarver win(who was a significant favorite and top 10 p4p as well) and the 20 title defenses, and Nard's resume definately tops Pac's.
Hopkins is a talented tactician, that is why he has been able to fight at the highest level for such a long time. But he is by no means the best fighter of the last 25 years, by his own omission Floyd is a better fighter!! Calzaghe beat him in his back yard at a new weight!!! Calzaghe had been calling Hopkins out for years!!! great fighter undoubtedly, but not the best of his generation.
No, that fight happened years ago. I was still in elementry school when they fought. I'm just calling it like I see it.
