Hopkins is great but fortunate

    i dunno round about that time 94/95 i dont see hopkins doing much of anything vs either jones nor toney. he might have become a champ one day, but i doubt he would have been the mw king

    You can pick any fighter from history, and think up ways that things would've been more difficult for them. Would Hagler have been as dominant if he had fought SRL in '82 then McCallum a few years later? Would Ricardo Lopez have stayed unbeaten for so long if he had actually fought Michael Carbajal and Chiquita Gonzalez? etc etc etc. Hopkins fought the best available. Every fighter is fortunate if you paint it that way.

    The middleweight division has sucked since Hagler-Leonard.
