Wrong...Hopkins is smart, and as a smart fighter he knows what he can and cant do at his age...He cant keep up with a fighter that throws alot of puncher..But a guy like Adamek who is tight with his shots and not a free swinger Hopkins can fight at his pace, and at his pace he will beat Adamek...Now Adamek would have to break tends and crank up his output then he would beat Hopkins...

They also spoke about it several times tonight on ESPN FNF...I would bet this fight will get done and it happens about July or August...

Lets Hope, I think it will be a great fight, Im interested in seeing if Adamek can crank up the output...Something to keep in mind...Hopkins started his career at this wieght, Im not sure that many people are aware of that.

I don't get it, Why would he fight Adamek, but then say he doesn't wana fight Dawson at 175, someone that already beat Adamek and brings more money and would add alot more to his legacy.

I would pick Hopkins, but you know at 44 the age has to hit him eventually. I would not say he would lose, but eventually he will. Hearns is coming back for one more fight, how would he do with Adamek?

Well there is gain for Hopkins. It's the speed and athleticism that boxers Hopkins. It would take him too long to get started vs Dawson. As with the Taylor fights.

Whereas Adamek, who has skills but isn't fast and doesn't use a great defense. Adamek has the cruiserweight Ring belt so Hopkins would gun for this 3rd weight world title, the chance to be The Man at a 3rd weight. I HOPE they ignore Hopkins as if he won he wouldn't fight anyone and make the division dull. Hopkins did want to fight James Toney for the IBF cruiser title in 2003 but backed out of it due to money.

Hopefully Hopkins - a cautious man - decides against Adamek after seeing the Cunningham KDs and the brutal stoppage of Banks. Hopkins IS a guy who doesn't want to get hurt. You never know, Adamek's reign of terror - incl stoppage of Bell also - may put him off!

Steve Cunningham is speed and slickness embodies at cruiser and I want USS to get a rematch as this is a way better fight.

  10. What is so hard to get? Dawson is 26, 6'3", southpaw, with very fast hands who handled Adamek. He is also talented enough to get a win over a very tough GJ who a supposed P4P guy who recently retired (instead of fighting Dawson himself) ducked repeatedly. It won't add to BHOP's legacy if he gets shutout by the youthful & talented Dawson. Adamek is the lesser of the two evils for Hop (though not a fight I think the 44 year old should take).

  11. Right on point.

Actually I think Dawson doesn't really bring a lot of money to the table imo

Nah, agree with the previous poster, Hopkins is going with the more "winnable" fight. Dawson would have given Hopkins alot of problems, But vs Adamek he can use his skills to outbox him and win a title at cruiser.

But you have to agree that a fight vs Dawson would have MUCH more meaning than this.

Adamek should ignore this old spoiler and gun for rematches with Cunningham and Dawson. Knowing Adamek, that's exactly what he's going to do. Winning with an old fart won't prove anything at CW.
