Hopkins is still underrated in my opinion

Say what you want about Tito not having no place as a middleweight but he was the favorite to beat Hopkins and the majority of people thought he would. :good

 

I don't think he is underated! And he is in my top 5 favorite fighters.

 

Myth (nuthuggers): Hopkins is underrated

Fact: He's no way near underrated...in fact he gets more overrated on this board by the day.

 

I watched a few hagler fights the few last nights that i hadnt seen before,like hamani,obel 1&2,vito 2,monroe,sugar ray seles,watts,and all the things guys are saying about hopkins being textbook,old school,well conditioned etc in my mind apply much more to marvin. He could box,brawl and punch while keeping his chin safe,weaving and using footwork behind that southpaw jab...He also looked to be on the offensive and was exciting not just looking to spoil,steal or dirty his way to victory....Those opponents he had seemed to want to fight as well,not just coming for paydays....
Bernard seems to me just about hype,especially nowadays,i could never see marvin losing twice to taylor even a the back end of his career,and marvin v jones at middle would have been much better than nards effort...Marvin would also have dealt with ALL of nards challengers eaily...Hopkins best win was probably against tito,marvin would have toyed with tito and knocked him out clean...Marvin would have beaten all bernards opponents easily except possibly jones....Nard would struggle and lose to some of the guys on haglers resume....
Nard fans are losing cred by overrating him,take him for what he is,an atg crafty fighter but not at the very top of the middle pile and currently just an old businessman trying to make papers with his few remaining skills by cherry picking opponents and avoiding risk...
Let him fight a heavy or calzaghe and then get his ass retired and make his mouth more humble.....Seems like he talks only to promote himself and his boys,not much real substance to his speeches...
