Hopkins is the RING P4P #4...which is interesting.

Well I rate Calzaghe as #3....almost #2, with a re evaluation coming of Pacquiao if he fights someone with no title in his next fight.

 

Whats your list as a matter of interest?

 

I think we tend to underestimate B-Hop's ability to fight at a higher energy level. I was thinking that way too until I realized that after his fights he always looks fresh and relaxed as if he could fight another 12 rounds easy, while his opponents often look winded. He is not the most exciting fighter because he conserves his energy well and does ONLY what's necessary to get the UD; the knockout comes if it comes, he never forces it. Anyway, his stamina is on the level with Calzaghe and if they fight I predict we will all be surprised by B-Hops' ability to kick it up a level when Joe forces him too.

 

Hopkins will get old sometime. It's ridiculous that he's still fighting at such a high level right now, but even during the Winky fight he looked tentative and a little worn to me. I'm a fan of his, and I really think it'll be hell for Hopkins to have a fighter as active and crafty as Calzaghe in front of him. The old guy won't be unstoppable forever. And if he were to get stopped, I'd bet on an accumulation rather than him being caught with a big shot. At some point his legs won't allow him to compete with the best anymore.

I think fighting at light heavy will help Calzaghe, too. It's been a pain in the ass for him to have to keep cutting down to super middle all these years. I actually think that 175 is a better weight for Calzaghe at this point than it is for BHop.
