"I heard Joe said Bernard can't get a rematch - C'mon, listen, Joe knows in his heart when he's in his house, when he looks in the mirror that the judges beat Bernard Hopkins, and he has to live with that for the rest of his life. Yes, a win is a win, is a win, is a win, but at the end of the day if they stink this thing out November 8th where I'll be ringside; then all hell is gonna break lose through the media, and all hell is gonna break lose with the fans... If Joe Calzaghe has the heart to show that he won this fight - that most people believe he didn't - like some of the European press I've read over the last month - let me tell you something; I won't worry about a decision this time."

    very true.

10,000 phillies could get on a plane to wales if there is a rematch.
    plenty of room for them.

just what i dont understand is why 7 phillies only turned up in vegas for the first fight ?

Agree with you here. Neither man did enough to win the fight although Calzaghe was the busier fighter which has significant weight on some judges scorecards. I still think Calzaghe got away with a whole lot of slappy-happy bogus punches that didn't do anything to Hopkins. At the same time I'm not condoning Hopkins actions during that fight. He might not have been totally ready for Calzaghe, but he could have and should have performed much better than he showed in this fight.

Question, which denial is the more reasonable because you've quoted NO for Calzaghe and No for Hopkins. Is it easier to conceive that Hopkins lost to Calzaghe or did Calzaghe truly beat Hopkins.

I scored it for BHop by a couple of points. However, it was a hard fight to score because it is difficult to give rounds to a guy who throws 12 punches a round, or a guy who doesn't land a single effective punch.

Calzaghe won the fight. I thought that it was rather clear.

Sour grapes. In the words of Don King; "He's trying to turn a loss into a win."

a punch that lands = a punch that scores = an effective punch

Calzaghe landed more on B-Hop than anyone ever has. :deal
