If Roy is indeed shot or so badly over the hill there's no top fighter he can beat, no chance we're gonna see Jones-Hopkins II early 2010 (reported to be signed), because Roy is going to get knocked out by Danny Green before the Aussie's hardcore home crowd on December 2.

Green is not just another handpicked fighter, the idea of Roy-Green Machine came from Green’s camp in a form of a fat paycheck and Roy is traveling abroad for the first time in his career. Danny is the nightmare of any over the hill fighter: he has decent handspeed, good skills, excellent conditioning, a strong body and huge knockout power, Roy needs to be at least at 70% of his prime self, or he’s going to get stretched in Sydney. Green picked up the WBA LHW title 2 years ago then surprisingly 'retired' without defending it only to come back 14 months later to pick up the IBO CW title on the Jones-Lacy undercard. That title will be on the line in December. Green is a legit top10 fighter with losses only to Beyer (controversial DQ, close MD) and Mundine (biggest Aussie fight ever) and he's 6-0 with 5 KOs in his last 6, picking up the above mentioned LHW and CW belts. And you can bet he’s coming to give his home crowd what is considered as the biggest win Aussie boxing history, so Roy has his hands full.

Roy Jones vs. Bernard Hopkins II is might be signed, but it's happening only if Jones can overcome the very dangerous Danny Green in Australia to pick up the cruiserweight belt. The bad news: if Roy doesn't turn up in excellent shape, no BHop rematch will ever going to happen. The good news: if Roy can beat the very legit Green in Sydney, the Hopkins fight is all of the sudden a two-sided fight and very legit.

What will happen on December 2, in Sydney? :think

I've been following Green for a very long time. In his prime he was very dangerous. I honestly believe he isn't a shadow of what he was. Which is a shame, cause a lot of people dismiss him without realising just how good he was.

I cant see anything other than an RJJ victory.

The same Green who couldnt knockout Mundine? Yes the same Mundine who got pillow punched by Ottke. Please, give me a break.

To even consider Green a world class fighter is an insult to the sweet science. I understand your patriotism towards Green, but dont let it cloud your judgement.

Is this fight gonna happen in CW or LHW limit ?

Well, I'm rooting for Green, only because if Roy loses there's not gonna be Hopkins fight probably. This way Hopkins-Adamek will get closer to be dealt incase if Adamek defeats Golota. ;)

You idiot, Kessler landed the same cracking shots on Mundine that knocks people spark out and nothing happened. I'd love to say don't be an ignorant fool, but now it's too late.

I have heard so many Jones-Hopkins rematch rumors for 16 years now I am not taking any of them seriously until I see them at the weigh in! Plus Jones still has to beat Danny Green who is a very good fighter.

Just another aussie insanely biased against aussie athletes. Green is a bum. End of story. His toughest opponent was Mundine, whom Green could not land any "cracking shots" on, who thrashed Green pillar to post. If he couldnt beat Mundine who is not yet imho, a world class fighter, what ****ing chance does he have against RJJ, arguably the best boxer to ever lace up gloves?

    You are delusional mate.

If Roy was never knocked out by Glen Johnson, this thread would never had existed. It's an image we'll never be able to get out of our heads when Roy enters the ring. Before that, I never in a million years expected him to lose let alone get ko'd.

Danny Green has knock out power and can take a punch, but he won't be able to land anything clean on Roy cus he's too slow and Roy's still too fast. Roy should win an lop-sided decision.

Hopkins is taking a tune-up match in December that he also must win (probably a tomatoe can).. so both have some pressure to win.. but this fight is destiny so it will happen.

It's at cruiser and i expect that's why Hopkins wants the fight so he can be a champ at his third weight. In his mind at least.

I'm a huge fan of Roy but I've got to say that Green will be very dangerous for him. Tall, strong, and ready to win.
This will be Green by knock out or Jones by decision.
