rj is my fav fighter, but bernard is right. i dont wanna see him goin in there and fighters start beatin him, that we all kno wouldnt have a chance in his prime. idk man, felt bad 4 roy, i kno he dont wanna go out like that being the champ that he is. but idk wat he is gonna do
Roy was such a cocky ***** when he was on top, I always watched his fights hoping to one day see him get knocked out or beaten up. Never thought I'd ever end up rooting for him... but I took no joy in witnessing his downfall... and I hoped he could regain the old form and shock the world by beating Joe. But, it's clear he's done. There's nothing left of the old Roy Jones. If he had of retired right after the Ruiz fight???... shuda cuda wuda!
RJJ should retire. I was rooting for him and almost fell out of my chair when he dropped Joe. It looked ugly, but Joe came back. I feel that Hopkins and Kessler should happen. Joe will never give him a rematch.
I certainly wish he would retire. But I doubt he will. He will probably continue to tell us how he is still in his prime and will once again, become light heavyweight champion of the world.
I bet it was real hard for Roy to have to see Hopkins in his locker room after the fight. Hopkins is right - Roy needs to call it a career. It's a shame that he didn't end it on his terms though.
I agree with everything Hopkins( and the ppl above me ) have said. SAD NEWS: ROY STILL IN DENIAL The site that talks about boxing interviewed Roy. Roy is saying that his cutman dropped the ball and he would have won the fight had his cutman done his job. Roy is now seeking a fight with Calzaghe in Wales. Roy is my favorite fighter, but I'm not buying any more of his fight( and there will be more ). It's hard to watch the guy tarnish his name like this. Roy will continue to fight on.....
I agree with what Hopkins said, Roy should retire he has nothing to prove to anybody... only it seems to himself!Very sad! Hopkins is still a **** though!
Remember, Roy wanted Tyson BAD........ for the payday of course after Tarver1, but that fight never happened. Figures of $25mil/per fighter were thrown about and I think Roy was planning that as his retirement party. I don't think he actually wants to fight anymore, he is doing it for the paydays.
Hopkins is just stating the obvious. Who in his right mind would think Roy should keep fighting, most people wanted Roy to retire like more than 3 years ago.
