everyone has already made up their minds. no one will give any credit to the other side once it is over. as always, fans of said fighter will diminish everything the other side has ever done.
Not true for everyone. I'm pretty sure Kovalev will and should win, and even early and without too much problems. He isn't some paper beltholder who held on to it due to corrupt judging like Shumi and Cloud, this is the guy who completely demolished his foes up 'till now. BUT... It's still Hopkins we're talking about, and despite his advanced age he can still pul it off. If he finds a way to get past the early onslaught and uses all his tricks to nullify Kova's attack and frustrate him so he'll makes mistakes or gasses, he might eventualy be victorious. And there's always the possibility of winning by some dirty trick too of course. I don't believe in a "schooling", because it's too big a gap in class between Cloud, Murat, Shumi and Kovalev to expect anything like that. I favored Hopkins against all 3 of them, because they had shown they were actually very flawed boxers. You need to be a lot faster and more mobile to have a chance of actually outboxing Kovalev.
i think there actually may be a point in giving no credit to the winner. hopkins hasn't looked good in quite awhile. kovalev is suspect until he goes the distance.
Not at all. If HOP wins we get to say we saw it at the time. We will be able to tell our grandkids we remember watching an Archie Moore type fighter make history. Even if Kovalev loses, which I'm not predicting, he will still be top tier and extremely entertaining. I can't see anyone else in the division beating him. He is also still a young man with a lot to learn.
