Hopkins lost my respect!!!

    I WAS a big fan of both bhop and rjj coming into that fight lastnight. After seeing the pathetic antics by bhop trying to get a breather I have basically lost all respect for him. In my eyes rjj lost the fight but did not punk out like bhop did. Very disapointing on bhops part.

    I hear you brotha ..That fight left a bad taste in my mouth ..Considering what Roy has went through you think Hopkins would have not acted in such a manner ..Its like he was in a street fight and kept calling time out for a breather ..Sad ..Jones is still the man ..Hopkins not so much.

    I hope Hopkins doesn't read ESB because I'm sure this news would upset him terribly.

    I don't think I ever want to see Hopkins fight again.

    he goes out like a punk and if he does not care that's fine it just means he does not care about the fans at all.

    I'm not saying he ever did. You're right though, the display was terrible but whatever. He took home a nice big paycheck, got his meager vengeance and now we can all see he is finally past it in all likelihood. Got some business out of the way for everyone.

    All I can say is I have watched boxing for over 25yrs and that was the biggest 180 i have had in regards to liking or disliking a fighter. I went from liking bhop to thinking he is one of the biggest punks in the ring in ONE single fight.

    It really was sad. Jones was doing nothing. He so shot its pitiful so there was no need for Hopkins to try and win on a foul. As ive said hes damaged his legacy big time with that fight. Jones should call it day for sure.

    Really pathetic, he needed to foul, take breathers and a terrible ref to beat this version of Roy, Back in 02 Roy would've whipped his ass and he knows it. I hope he does fight Haye or Dawson next, I never like seeing old fighters get destroyed but Hopkins is the exception.

    And what about bhop always saying he is a fighter from "the streets" a real tough "street guy". I don't think the guys from the street would be crying on the ground trying to get a break or get the other guy dq'ed.

    the fact that he only unleashed his flurry after he got some rest proof he's acting

    exactly, for a guy who is seeing stars his best flurry was right after the acting job. Roy has been gun shy for years and really needs to retire as well but at least he can do it with some self respect that he did not try to punk out of his last fight.
