I'm sure one of the champs from below would want to fight him, good payday and it's still Hopkins on your resume. Hopkins' camp are probably looking at Froch and GGG on top of their list. They way they probably see it is: Froch is not hard to find in the ring and would give Hops opportunities to land more, and GGG is much smaller and gives them a chance to get and undefeated and suppopsedly feared fighter as a good scalp to retire on. How Hops would actually do against them in the ring is another story, but it's a good way to go out win or lose, fighting the best.
Froch weighed about 10 lbs less against Abraham and Bute than B-Hop did on Saturday night against Kovalev.
It will never happen. Most people don't want to live like gladiators who at the end of a hard weeks work getting yelled at by impatient supervisors go compete in a triathlon followed by a hearty meal of raw vegetables and lean meat. That is not living. Emperor Nero said it best as he understood human psychology, "give them bread and circuses". Now, go have a beer. You know you want one.
50 yr old hops still has enough to beat froch, that is for damn sure. hops would get murdered by ggg and outclassed by ward but he can go out on a high by beating the highly over rated froch. easy fight for hops even at 50, hell at 60 he could still beat any version of froch
why do you hate hops so much ? that's a suicide match for hops. ANY hops at any time in his career would get murdered by trip G
I think after Ward beat Dawson, the way Hopkins yelled up from the announcers table that he didn't want to face Ward to Ward's face and everybody at home watching shows that that is not in the cards.
well hopkins body is great for a 50yr old, but if you were in the gym working your ass off like he does you would have a better body. he has lost alot of muscle mass down the years.
Actually this is quite intriguing from the old guy. I can't see him getting back down to 160, but 168s certainly doable. Ward makes little sense cos Ward ain't fighting right now, quite aside from the fact that Hopkins has said he won't fight the kid. Froch has some kinda appeal, though, with Froch being a unified 168 Champ and looking for a big farewell fight of his own (depending on whether Chavez Jr can be made). I could kinda go for that one, although a fight between two guys on the verge of retirement kinda lacks much meaning. That said it's sorta tough... if anyone beats Hopkins now, it'll simply be said that Hopkins was past it (his dominant performances of the last few years aside) or that Kovalev finished him. Hard to say who'ld want that fight against a guy who still has the tricks and boxing savvy to win or at the very least make most guys half his age look bad.
Shame I don't think he can get down to 160, I wouldn't mind seeing him pick up an official win against Taylor.
