Never known a fighter on the bad end of so many bad split decisions. Not that any of his 'losses' cannot be justly (except Taylor 2) seen as such, but they all begged perspective and every close fight he's had has gone against him. He's is obviously not thought marketable enough by the people who run boxing. I feel sorry for him. I hope future generations appreciate how good he was. But I think only the aficionado's will. My memory of him will be that he is a hard wine to get used to but onece you do he tastes better than all of them. Thanks for the memories Executioner.

You mean his 2 losses against Taylor for which could have gone either way ?

I can think of plenty of fighters who have been on the recieveing end of many more.

If the Taylor fights were scheduled for 4 rounds 9-12 Hopkins would have won.Unfortunatly Championship fights are 12 rounds.

People that thought he won that fight need to look how a fight is scored. Holding and hitting isn't what "the noble art" is all about. Sure, rules are there to br broken, but do so at your own risk and dont come crying when you only land several shots in the middle of the ring and get out worked by someone not trying to bend the rules in their favour.

If Hopkins used his rule bending to actually KO people, then he'd be in a much better position, but he's not going to win a decision based on a right hand that landed VERY infrequently and the rest of his so called clean hits were landed in illegal clinching. Hopkins only has himself to blame, he came up against someone that wouldn't be bullied and who was equally adept at bending the rules to take Hopkins out of his game. Basically, Calzaghe imposed his will and broke Bernards, as evident by sustained complaints and feigning of injury... Robert Allen anyone? Think Nard was looking for an early exit sign personally.

Glen Johnson is not as good as BHop so his bad luck is less tragic.

If he just threw a few more punches each round then the decisions may have gone the other way

Wow it's a wonder so many people disagree given how indubitable your truth is.

Yea I agree, that 20 million he says he has in the bank, plus the 3-5 mil he made against Joe really solidifies his status as "unluckiest ******* in history".
Damn I really feel sorry for multi millionaires, and to think I used to think all the poor starving masses of India, Africa etc were unlucky. Glad to get my head screwed on right.

I understand where you are coming from but Calzaghe would have felt hard done by aswell if he had lost.

Read Nietzsche. The suffering of an entire nation is worth the expression of one great mans mans genius.

A Hopkins wins could easily have been described as a robbery as well. It's just another one of those decisions isn't going to please everyone. Boxing goes on.

May 3rd Guzman vs Alex Arthur and ODLH vs Forbes (and for the hardcore fans, Charlie Zelenoff vs the other youtuber)
