Though its tough to question the credentials of someone who reigned at 160 for so long and won a championship at 175 very late in his career, I just don't see BHop's "greatness"...his main advantage at 160 was his HUGE size and grappling style, his biggest wins came against even SMALLER guys moving up in weight, he lost 3 times against the two best guys (who were his own size) he fought...even his win over Tarver was tainted by AT having to cut 40 solid pounds from his "Rocky" performance.

An incredibly displeasing (and arguably illegal) style of one punch and hold, along w/his thuggish tactics and lack of class makes him a very forgettable champion.

    Bull****.

    1) Hopkins' "unluckiness" is nowhere near that of guys like Glen Johnson, Emmanuel Augustus, Robin Reid, Joel Casamayor, Juan Manuel Marquez, etc.

    2) He got lucky to escape with a draw against Mercado, after getting dropped numerous times.

    3) He has been involved in a number of fights that should have been closer than they were.

    4) His ability to win the fights was completely within his reach, and he didn't seize the opportunities.

He COULD HAVE won the Calzaghe fight if he had thrown enough punches. Same with the Taylor fights. Simple as that.
