Hopkins MW resume vs Sturms MW resume. Whos is really better & who would win?

Sturm is a mediocre champion at best. I would call him a protected and below average champion in fact.. who is in a relatively weak division.

Abraham would have a better chance because at least he has the power. Sturm has absolutely no chance.

 

I like Bernard's resume, and I think Bernard would have won a ud................116-112

I see BHop being able to do what he wants when he wants.....I think Bhop would land his punches a little cleaner..

Not saying it would be a huge difference...I think BHop takes it 8-4 in a chess match.

 

Resume wise Hopkins has the longevity plus Oscar and Tito and Joppy and Holmes

Sturm has some good wins but many seem handpicked

I will admit with a rock solid jab and good defense and hard accurate punching he is not an easy fight

plus he has very good defense

but his activity is low and guys like Macklin and Gevor were all over him and out worked him

but....Hopkins isnt that kind of fighter

would be an interesting fight for sure

 

If we are talking about the old Middleweight Hopkins. I could see 116-112. If we are talking about a younger middleweight Hopkins, Hopkins would put serious hands on Sturm, as would many of Hopkins's opponents. Sturm wouldn't have beaten Mercado from Hopkins vs Mercado I, Allen from Hopkins vs Allen I or II, Echols, from Hopkins vs Echols I or II, Glen Johnson, Eastman, Vanderpool, etc.

Sturm lost to old a$$ Castillejo for crying out loud. Sturm is a product of very careful match making. He wouldn't even fight Abraham when a German super fight was tried to set up.

 

Sturm has never been a linear champion and never will be. His belts are worthless. His claim to fame is a narrow loss to DLH who wasn't **** above 154. Hopkins would have murdered this kid. They are not in the same class. The middleweight division is weak all the way through right now, dont be surprised if AA makes an impact quickly.

Delahoya Paid Kingsley Ikeke step aside money for that fight......... and DLH basicly kinda got a belt he didnt really deserve neither and took it to the unification bout with him.. Really neither Sturm nor Oscar won that fight should have been a draw.

However had Ikeke fought Sturm that night, Sturm would have likely been stopped.. and Obviously this was a bad career move by Ikeke, he hasnt got a title shot since.....

 

Actually Ikeke, did get a title shot. He fought Abraham for the vacant IBF title and got whooped.
