Hopkins never beat an A-level fighter in his entire career at a fair weight

Hopkins longevity is great but he will always be remembered for coming up short in all his biggest challenges, It is what it is. He lost to Jones, Taylor, Calzaghe, Mitchell, Dawson, drew with Mercado and stank the house out on numerous occasions with his play acting and racism.

On top of that, Hopkins wasted far too long in his career trying to clean out the worst 160 era in history, even creating a trilogy versus little known American Robert Allan, and inviting a series of Welterweights in ODLH, Mosley, and Trinidad up to his weight in an attempt to make eye catching matches for the gullable public to view.

Hopkins had the chance to take his legacy on a notch in 2002 when the Calzaghe camp offered Hopkins a career high pay day to fight the unbeaten welshman in America but Hopkins declined the the lucrative offer in favour of fighting little known Frenchman Morrade Hakkar (31-3) for peanuts instead.

One of the few signs of greatness on Hopkins resume was when he made a 2 weight jump back up to his original and natural weight (175) and beat an overated, weight drained American hypejob Tarver, before dragging a shot winky wright and Pavlik up way above their best weights to face him.

The real greatness in Hopkins for me has been shown that in his mid 40s he has been able to remain competitive with B/C level fighters in Pascal and Cloud which is a phenominal achievement in itself.

When Hopkins hangs up his gloves, he is going to be really hard to assess because when you analyse everything in the cold light of day you will see that :

    - His smoke and mirrors career has been carefully manufactured to drag opponents up above their best weights to fight him

    - He never beat an elite opponent at a fair weight his entire career, failing his biggest challenges

    - He showed remarkable longevity and ring smarts to remain competitive with B/C level guys into his late 40s.

This coming from a poster with 0 vcash and just 7 profile views in his 13 months on esb :lol::lol::lol::rofl

If I'm trolling, then debate my points and show me where I am wrong, instead of squealing like a little pig to the mods and then scurrying for cover when the Team Elite General comes out to play :deal

    if you're not trolling you're a fool
like I said a couple of days ago, replying to one of your posts, you need a girlfriend...

somebody mentioned that you in your mid-40's...

you spend half your life doing what bailey does - looking to discredit jones and Hopkins in 'retaliation' for the general perceived view about joe calzaghe

get a life...you only get one

I agree with this really. Never beat a truly top guy in their prime. Still he showed that he was with the way he dismanteld a lot of B+ guys and with his longevity he is without doubt an all time great.

  8. Stop with this old hype job .. that he won against this last guy doesn't speak for Hopkins, that speaks against this bum who lost to Hopkins.

Woge knocks him out in round 3.

I ain't trolling, so if you have the bottle to debate then please make your point, I am open minded and willing to listen to what you have to say even though you are a proven troll yourself.

I have 2 girlfriends, that must be hard for you to take when you have never dated a girl that doesn't own a dick.

At last you are correct, I am a Team Elite General, I am a billionaire from a thriving global company, I spend my life traveling the globe, educating boxing fans about the noble art, and I spend time here on esb destroying minions in debate via the use of irrefutable scientific facts in deliciously crystal clear HD before a global audience of millions.

There is no need to do that, Calzaghe holds comfortable victories over both. However one of the main factors in the Team Elite mandate is to educate delusional, blinkered fanboys who have spent their entire life swallowing hook, line and sinker the narrow minded brainwashing strategies spoon fed them by HBO and Ring Magazine. At Team Elite, we broaden the horizons of the gulllable.

I am a billionaire Team Elite Corporation General travelling the world sticking my exceptionally large donger in a series of miss world contestants whilst you are a frail heroin addict living in a damp, rundown crackden with a needle stuck in your groin whilst typing on your stolen laptop that you will sell for to get you're next hit later.

In the meantime, if you have anything to discuss about my original post then I am prepared to tolerate you.

you don't think Trinidad was a great win?

Trinidad was unbeaten and betting favourite for that fight, and had just bullied joppy and KO'd him to prove he belonged at MW (unlike Oscar who struggled as soon as he put his foot in the water)

How would you consider a career welterweight in Trinidad an elite, fair weight victory for an exceptionally large middleweight champion.

What evidence do you have to suggest that Trinidad is an elite A-level middleweight?

Trinidad was to small and his left hook happy style made the fight a cake walk for Hop.

Martinez as a smaller man boxed the ears of Pavlik but doesn't get half the praise Hop does.

Thoses two wins are very overrated imo and are his best wins next to Tarver and Joppy from the past 10 years.

A natural sized LHW but average fighter Dawson beat him handily in a fight that everybody knew Hop wasn't going to win.
    Cloud was just a bum.
    Still , he's a great fighter.

True. Not impressive to beat the pound for pound #1 fighter in the world and the pound for pound #3 fighter in the world (moving up two weight classes to do so).

Uhh...the fact that he KO'ed the #2 middleweight in the world within 5 rounds a few months before he fought Hopkins?
