I surveyed the landscape from lightheavy to SMW and these
are the only possible fights i could see Nard taking, now that
he said he'd never fight Ward. Clev, being from Wales which
holds the millenium stadium would make the biggest gate that
would hold this fight, plus clev brings the most to the table.
I don't see either HBO or showtime buying a 3rd Dawson or
Pascal fight as there's finished business with both guys. I also
don't see a shumenov fight as he has NO base. Clev, by far
makes the most sense at '75 and Bernard already dropped his name.
The other option, and most likely one, would be the Kessler/
Froch winner. Hopkins could enhance his legacy by becoming
a 3 weight champion and making either the same or more than
in the cleverly fight. I also beleive Nard would have to travel
in both scenarios as making these guys travel would lessen the
pot because of a smaller gate and possible less TV network
involvement. I dunno, it's my opinion but i stated my case as
    to why.

Doesn't he have to defend against Murat?

    Those are good options.

He's open to fighting Murat but they might let him take an interim bout or something given that he's relatively unknown.

Yeah, he said he'd 'fulfill that obligation' because he always
had in his 25 yr career, blah blah, blah but in the same sentence
that his fans expected him to take BIG fights from now on. Murat
    isn't a big fight.

    Risky fight(s) for everyone here.
I think that the venue should be in the US however, it would be a great showdown over there. Also I doubt that Hopkins wants to travel to Europe.

Cleverly hasn't got the balls to fight Bernard Hopkins.

I believe he has a year until his mando so don't expect Hopkins to fight anyone in their top 10 anytime soon. Plus, I don't believe Murat has officially earned mandatory status yet.

He actually said that at the moment he's planning on honouring his mando commitments and fight Murat (mentioned him by name) but I expect another fight to happen.

the biggest fight for Hopkins right now is Ward. He would be stup!d not to make it. I don't give a care about all that mentor BS business is business.
