Makes too much sense.
Please repost & rephrase with cartoons or many here will hate you. :yep

Dawson lost to Andre Ward, the most skilled boxer in the world behind Floyd Mayweather. He still has plenty potential and Kovalev is definitely not at the level of Ward, so a Dawson-Kovalev bouts makes perfect sense. Especially if Hopkins is able to get the Stevenson0Hopkins match up.

Ward has already stated that he is dying to move up.
Kovalev should be trying to get a Ward-Kovalev match. This would definitely be a bigger fight than Stevenson-Kovalev. Plus, win or lose it will demonstrate to the world exactly where Kovalev's level of skill really is.

At the very least Kovalev should be moving up the ranks and seek a matchup between he and Tavoris Cloud or Issac Chilemba to improve his resume and highlight his skills.

Yes. Today tin cans have greater value more than before.

Vlad Klitscho made a whole career of it. Nowadays the Heavyweight division is being relabelled as, a The Canned Tomato Division.

-Good then.

-No, they are pure fantasy scenarios. You apparently have hang ups about people picking Kovalev over fighters you don't think he can beat. Who gives a ****? They have their reasons, you have your reasons.

-Eh..Iceman left him after Ward. From boxrec:

In an interview with Real Combat Media in Atlantic City less than a week before this fight, Iceman John Scully, former principal trainer of Chad Dawson, noted there were serious training issues, weight loss concerns and behavior problems dealing with Chad in the Las Vegas camp while he was attempting to train Dawson for Andre Ward, with Dawson not listening to his trainer or following his instructions. Scully made up his mind to leave Dawson for good after the Ward bout and set up a new gym in Florida, and did not speak to Chad again

Hey Butt,

Remember when you saw this clown agree to leave the forums for good if Bradley lost to Pacman.

A man that cannot honor a bet, is not a man.

The issue isn't which would happen 1st.

The issue is that if Bernand wants to call himself the best LHW in the world he needs to fight and beat both men. The same goes to them as well.

Really, if Kovalev were an easy touch, BHOP WOULD HAVE ALREADY FOUGHT HIM.

Hopkins is very vocal and open about he wants to fight and he has said he wants to fight Kovalev but he is across the street so the fight just can't happen.
Kovalev needs to stop whining about Hopkins and Stevenson, get busy and put himself in position to achieve something.
While Kovalev is sitting there whining, Hopkins and Stevenson are moving along leaving him behind.

Nah man. It is unfortunate thing, and please don't give em any ideas.

Since 05? 06? Something like that. The wbo is in the undisputed sweepstakes. It is what it is.

In all fairness, Shumenov was gifted that belt away from Campillo, whereas Kovalev earned his belt by destroying Cleverly. I've watched both Shemenov-Campillo fights twice and he shouldn't have been given that belt. Shumenov has improved a good bit since then, but if you're honest, you have to admit Shumenov got the belt via a gift, not via a win.

First you say Kovelav hasn't said he wants to fight Hopkins, and then when it's pointed out that he has, you say he didn't do it the right way.

Come on, you've got to be more objective and intellectually honest if you want people to respect your opinions. You start sounding like a hack when bias starts creeping in and you don't keep things objective. I see glimmers of objectivity and intelligence from you and then you go and step on your own credibility.

You people read this? They don't want to fight Hopkins anyway so why are they complaining now? don't tell me it's because they wanted to fight Stevenson and they stay on the outside looking in waiting for the one fight with Stevenson which will give them all they can get glory from? So it is not a really unfair situation towards Kovalev. They also like their little schemes and shortcuts in the backstage and operate on the media to tell who's who... Like always, time will tell.

All I'm saying is if you want the fight you don't whisper it so it's overheard indirectly. This is a macho sport, and the loud squeaky wheel is the one that gets the grease.
If Kovalev wants the fight, then he and his management should be loud and announce it to the world every chance they get. They haven't.

Perhaps it's not directly Kovalev's fault that his management is **** poor and hasn't been effective in getting him either the Hopkins or Stevenson fights.
But what about Dawson, Cloud or Ward?
Promoters get paid to put together fights and match their fighters.

I see Hopkins and Stevenson's promoters working, but according to Showtime's rep, before Kovalev signed with HBO, he never even once received a phone call from Kovalev's management.
Kathy Diva responded, "What, I'm supposed to call you?", and he said, "Isn't that what boxing promoters are paid to do?"
LOL

By some remarkable coincidence Haymon snapped up Dawson around the same time as Stevenson...who the hell knows why...Chad, for all his native talent is widely considered shot.

Cloud's name alon might still carry some weight amongst those who haven't seen him convincingly outboxed in three succesive fights... I guess.

Ward...now, that would be a great fight and a real test of both fighters ...when, eventually, Ward gets through with the biggest fight of his career, with his own promoter. This looks like it well be tied up for th rest of the year.

So... in short there is no-one for Kovalev to fight (although Haymon might be willing to deplete the HBO coffers by offering a Dawson fight for an absurd overprice, possibly killing it late anyway to sabotage them further) - and next year, the argument will be 'but he hasn't fought anyone'.

Don't get me wrong, the business accumen shown by the SHO boadcast-promotion-management entity is impressive, but as someone who simply wants to watch good fights I'll only only be sold when they start making top fights outside of 140-154 rather than just sabotaging HBOs efforts.

Kovalev would DESTROY Hopkins beating him worse than Calzaghe did, and Bernard knows it.
