(I cross posted this in another thread but I felt I put too much work into this not to give it it's own thread, lol. I did find it interesting to do the research and would be interested in doing the same with other fighters who are considered top class but have had little to no KO's over a fairly long period.) Hopkins has fought 16 times since his last KO victory. Those opponents have been knocked out only a combined 11 times. Considering Eastman has now lost 13 (only once prior to fighting Hopkins) and DLH, Taylor, Dawson, etc have been starched at least a couple times since fighting Hopkins it doesn't seem that surprising that Hopkins wasn't able to get any of them out. As you fight better competition your KO percentage generally goes down, which I'm sure you all know but it's worth repeating. I guess I'll go the extra mile and break it down even further...I must be bored. Shumenov KO Losses = 0 Murat KO Losses = 1...1 before Hopkins 0 since Cloud KO Losses = 2...0 before Hopkins 2 since Dawson KO Losses = 2 ...0 Before Hopkins 2 since Pascal KO Losses = 0 RJJ = KO Losses = 4...3 before Hopkins 1 since Orneles KO Losses = 2...1 before Hopkins 1 since Pavlik KO Losses = 0 Calzaghe KO Losses = 0 Wright KO Losses = 0 Tarver KO Losses = 0 Taylor KO Losses = 0 before Hopkins 3 since Eastman KO Losses 0 before Hopkins 2 since So to wrap up this long post and get to my point of the 16 matches in the last 10 years (since his last KO) his opponents had only been knocked out a combined 5 times prior to fighting Hopkins, with 3 of those going to a badly faded RJJ. In other words, we shouldn't be surprised that Hopkins has score 0 knockouts in the last decade.
Dawson had never been KO'ed prior to fighting Hopkins. I believe he had only been down once in his career fighting Hopkins. When the two actually fought I don't think anyone thought Dawson had a bad chin.
