Well being that this a european website it's not suprising they would be bias and pick those fighters over Pavlik being that there from Europe but definetly more think that now.

Nah you were able to figure out that Hopkins is great fighter and better than Jermaine Taylor, tell the truth now.

According socrates, everybody's all of sudden giving him more credit now for all his great victories, even roy jones and Calzaghe.

Ok let me ask you this. You think jc beat Hopkins and that's cool even though I don't agree. Do you actually think Taylor also beat hopkins?

Taylor beat Hopkins. Although Hopkins layed an ass whipping on Taylor in the rounds he won, especially in the first fight, Taylor still edged out 7 close rounds.

I give him all the credit in the World. When he took that can of salmon from the pantry because he was hungry the other mo'nin, and et it up, Oscar THOUGHT he was a stealer, and was ready to fire his ass. But on the way from taking Richard Schaefer to his manicure, he stopped at the Piggly Wiggly and bought a can to replace it. Dat Bo'nad have mo' teggrity dan you kin shake a stick at!:good

well in the midst of the 90s, where he was fighting the garbage defenses mentioned above...there were the following guys out there

    Gerald McClellan
    Nigel Benn
    Iran Barkley
    Chris Eubank
    Steve Collins
    Michael Nunn
    James Toney
    Mike McCallum

what did you say about the talent pool???
    :deal

I lost respect for Hopkins after the JC fight, all his feigning injury and moaning, he deserved to lose that fight.

However I saw a different Hopkins against Pavlik, more aggresive and just getting on with his business and letting his skills do the work.

If Hopkins had stopped his bitching in the ring and came to fight more often, he would have a bigger fanbase and greater respect from the fans.

A bit like Mayweather, huge talent but the majority of fights just arent entertaining cause they'd rather run around the ring all day and win on points rather than taking it to their opponent.

I am a monstrous Hopkins fan, but I must say, he does get his due on this forum. There are many people who appreciate the living breathing genius of B-Hop, and a few biased horrors who refuse to for their own lamentable reasons.

To anyone who criticizes his resume on size issues, all I can say is CARLOS MONZON and MARVIN HAGLER. And that usually shuts them up, unless they're moronic noobs who don't know what I'm referring to.
