Hes looking for the Cash and Legacy. Adamek would be a big money fight. Adamek sells more tickets and pulls more numbers than Dawson and Kessler combined.
So this a cherry-pick, Bernard? Is that what you're saying? Don't ask for my money with that kind of talk.
When Hops said he wanted to do "something big" in 2009 I knew he wanted to fight Adamek. Go Hops! :happy
huh.... Adamek is the undisputed Cruiserweight champion. Dawson barely got by Johnson and is fighting Tarver again. Hopkins beat both of those guys easier then Dawson did. Kessler: Seems only interested in fighting bums right now. Adamek-Hopkins is a great fight.
i reckon b hop would give him a boxing lesson. and for the guy who posted above me....you obviously didnt know dawson already beat adamek,so dawson is the better fighter.
Easier fight? Kessler and Dawson would struggle to beat Adamek at Cruiser so for Hopkins who has spent the majority of his career at middleweight (not SMW or LHW), will find this a greater challenge than fighting the other two fighters you mentioned.
If you have the chance to make your OWN legacy and that chance presented itself in the form of a legend like Bernard Hopkins, wouldn't you do it as well? Let Adamek do it. Let him fight Bernard Hopkins for legacy. Whether he has a fighting chance or not, this is a chance for Adamek to write his name in the history books. So I say grab that chance for glory. Its likely he won't have this big of an opportunity again. Oh, and NOTHING is 100% certain in boxing.
You might be right. But lots of people are prone to pull and lean towards Hopkins to win just because his reputation preceeds him. Adamek isnt a flashy fighter, and that leads a lot of people who havent seen his fights down the wrong road. Either way it will be interesting to see what the odds are. The odds on this forum so far look like they are against Adamek, and that usually mirrors I think the odds at the bookies.
That's the thing. Hopkins is going into completely uncharted territory, and doing it all at the age of 44. Who knows what effect the extra weight will have on his body, speed, reflexes, stamina. But one thing is for sure, I doubt it will make him faster, sharper, and better conditioned.
Hopkins has to do something big for Golden Boy's change in strategy taking the fights to the big passionate crowds. There should be a good Adamek following if they have it in the same arena as damek-Cunningham/Banks. Like Marquez v Diaz, Hopkins will be in a crisis, he'll be facing some serious leather, he will be under pressure and he'll have to do a perfect performance. This is no Pavlik moving up to a new weight. Adamek's being overlooked here. If Hopkins is so sure to win, what's the point in the 1st place? But I'd rather see Adamek in with power punching or aggressive cruisers. These are the fights that are entertainng and that is why Adamek is becoming a fan favorite. I would love to see him continue the rivalry with Cunningham as they gel; and Adamek would have 2 great rivalries Briggs and Cunningham.
Adamek - Hopkins is similar to Hopkins - Trinidad but now Hopkins is moving up. In terms of potential legacy is good fight for both.
