This content is protected after stating he wants to fight both fighters, which if any of the two fights will happen and who wins? Hopkins and calzaghe if beats kessler? Hopkins moving up again to H/W?
Hopkins is careful to handpick his opponents - in this case a fellow old man in Calzaghe, and a tentative, low work-rate boxer in Ibrigamov.
in a way he can only fight wot he can get, did he not fight tarver because he couldnt get clazaghe and even if he did hand-pick winky its still not a bad w on the record as he is the upper tier P4P
:huh Are you saying that he doesn't research his opponents as much as he should? I dislike Calzaghe, but I admit he is a great fighter and he would beat Hopkins handily at this point. I just wish Calzaghe had made more of his career and I don't forgive him for his **** resume which belies his skills :-(
Hopkins needs to get a fight against Ibragimov, which shouldn't be hard to make since he's a GBP fighter, and retire. He's faded too much to face someone like Calzaghe/Dawson or even Pavlik. Ibragimov is a great legacy retirement fight and is winnable.
I'll say Hopkins vs Calzaghe (If Calzaghe beats Kessler) Calzaghe will easily outwork Hopkins, so there you got the winner.
Im a big JC fan & at last someone who dislikes him makes a decent post without resorting to calling him ****...etc...etc....
It was all agreed for Joe to go to the States in 2002 to fight Hopkins untill a deal broke through on Bernards end. I've already talked about this in another thread. Joe's said he's going to go to the states after the Kessler fight. Finally. We've waited a while heh.
Hopkins will fight neither. He isn't an idiot. He's rather fight the obviously limited Pavlik for more money. He'd lose that too however.
