Hopkins on Kovalev. I felt like a middleweight in there against a cruiserweight

No, he isn't. Kovalev is an average size LHW. Look at him next to Cleverly, for example - Cleverly is clearly bigger.

Funnily Kovalev ain't that big for a LHW - on Saturday he came in at 188 which is largish but far from massive (Bad Chad would come in as high as 193) but unusual for Kovalev who usually fights at more like 183/4.

I'd thought he'd come in relatively light to maximise his mobility, but perhaps he wanted to maintain an edge in bulk in case it became more of a wrestling match.

And Kovalev is 6' which ain't big when you had guys like Bellew and Sillakh at 6'3" and some even bigger guys, though realistically they were cruiserweights who were draining (much good it did them).

Nonetheless, possibly due to a somewhat upright stance Kovalev often tends to look like the bigger guy in the ring, even when he isn't (Froch is another one who looks deceptively big, despite weighing roughly the same as Canelo when he steps through the ropes).

But you ain't wrong... on the night bigger, younger, and stronger guy won, displaying skills and maturity in the ring which actually exceeded what many of his own fans expected.

Don't want to nitpick but if Hopkins is 6foot 1inch in height so is Kovalov. They both at several times went chin to chin with each other in photo ops in the pre-fight festivities and those two guys are exactly the same height. Kovalov looked taller in the ring as he has a stand up style whereas Hopkins crouches more.

Bhop was never 6'1 more of a solid 6 footer. Kovalev standing next to 5'10 1/2 GGG wasn't that much taller.

Hopkins had good legs for an older man. He just could not deal with Kovalev power from the outside. If he fought back, he would have been knocked out.

Bullshiit. Tarver, Pascal, Cloud were all naturally bigger than BHop.

Hopkins comfortably weighed in at 156lbs against De La Hoya and only came it at 160 on fight night, that was ten years ago when he was almost 40 with his metabolism already slowing down, he is now almost 50. Kovalev on the other hand hasn't been at those kind of weights since he was a 17 year old kid in the amateurs, so obviously Kovalev is a naturally bigger man than Hopkins.

I'm pretty sure B-Hop weighed 169 on the night when he fought Oscar.

Kovalev is a big, strong LHW and hits like a CW. Hopkins is a small LHW, he was fighting at MW at 40 years old and he hits like a middleweight so I can see why Hopkins would say that.
