I'm hoping that tko verdict stands and Dawson gets to keep his title. He came to fight "whilst" Hopkins was there with his usual bag full of shenanigans. Let Hopkins join the ranks of notable tko losers of the past who lost because of injuries..like Marcel Cerdan, Sonny Liston, Rene Jacquot (vs. John Mugabi), John Mugabi (vs. Duane Thomas)..and lest we forget that Ken Buchanan was declared a tko loser after a blatant fight ending low blow by that beloved fan favorite, Roberto Duran. Hooray for Bad Chad Dawson!! He won just as I predicted, though not in the way that I predicted...but a win is a win, let's have none of that "NC" ****..it wasn't Dawson's fault that Hopkin's can't take the rough stuff that he so willingly dishes out..so he fell and injured his shoulder...that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Hopkins would not have been able to hang with truly toughest men like Hagler or Monzon. I grant he has been a great fighter, but he has some ***** in him and it has shown several times.

I think calling Hopkins a coward and a ***** is a bridge too far. The man is closer to fifty than fourty, fighting men bigger, younger, stronger and faster than he is, with everything to lose and little to gain. How's that for cowardice.

The way he fights is not always crowd-pleasing, but the man is boxing through and through and I believe he deserves more respect than this.

Monzon was more gutless than Hopkins at 46.

I will say that Hopkins does seem to prefer the easy way out more than you'd like to see of a fighter, even in his prime days at times.

Being old shouldn't give him a pass for everything considering it's he who continues to fight and to get paid, but on the other hand he really is ancient for a boxer. Many great boxers had an undignified end and Hopkins could end up being among them, if this is to be his last fight.

I hope we get Dawson-Hopkins 2, we fans of technical boxing were disappointed last night, a rematch is still very interesting

I doubt we will. Ideally, we would see an immediate rematch on free TV (nobody will pay to watch a rematch anyway) but that's not how things tend to go. Dawson will definitely go fight Pascal if he keeps the title and he is willing to drop it if a title organization will strip it off him.

I really think there should be some type of refund for no decisions like this. For the days when boxers fought for free after a DQ result

I'm from Europe like yourself and glad I didn't stay up for the fight last night, as the TV channel broadcasting it hasn't made it to cable yet

Have to agree ... his act against Calzeghe was so pathetic it was unreal ... and he is manipulative enough to have had it called and set up a rematch for another payday not caring about the fans getting shafted or the paying customers ...

Totally agree Bummy! anyone but Hopkins you might feel sorry for, what goes around comes around and Bernard has gone full circle.

Bernard initiated the whole event by diving on top of Dawson as he was leaned over. The ref can be heard explaining this while in the ring. Though I would have agreed more with a NC, he sort of gets his just rewards for his tactics.
