Yep. He's telling you to observe GBP after July or during the fall season to see how the company is being run under Oscar. That's when all of Schaefer's work will have expired and Oscar will have to go to work to bridge the gap. :yep
Maybe your history is off but with out Oscar Hopkins would have never been apart of GBP or met Schafer ! And maybe you should not have selective memory when you comment !:good
I remember that. "According to Mosley, despite the fact that he reached out to promoter Bob Arum on his own to secure a bout with Manny Pacquiao, he never planned on giving up his position as a partner with the promotional company. "It's crazy to me. I told Judd, I said, 'Listen Judd [Burstein, Mosley's attorney], I'm about to go and talk to Bob myself because you guys can't do it. I'm about to go talk to him myself.' And then, we started talking to him, so they start bugging out. I even told people, 'I'm not signing with Top Rank. I'm just trying to make the fight for myself. I'm trying to make it happen.' And, you know, they didn't like that too much. They're just upset," Mosley explained as he recalled the events leading up to his rift with his former company. "They're mad at me just because they want to get a piece of what I'm making. If they would have came to me civilized and tried to talk to me, things could have been better. They could have said, 'Let's sit down, have dinner, and talk about this. 'You got the fight, now are we going to negotiate a percentage of what we're going to get out of that fight with Pacquiao?' It was none of that," Mosley continued as he tried to make sense of what prompted Golden Boy Promotions to react so harshly. "It was just, 'Oh, you left. Here's $1000 for you.' "
The relationship Hopkins has with Schaefer is very different than the relationship between Pacquiao and Arum. Hopkins doesn't have to mop bathroom floors and wash, wash cars and cut the yard for Schaefer the way that Arum makes Pacquiao slave for him. Hopkins is much richer than Pacquiao and owes the IRS no dough.
basically what schaefer was saying is "shane...yer dumb.....you cant win that fight anyway.....when people thought you had a shot they wanted nothing to do with you....remember when you went asked them for it awhile back and they wanted to drain you to 143 and said you were too good....cant you see they are using you now? its obvious you really need the money shane...so heres 1000 bucks...hope it helps and good luck"
You should not lie to others, including yourself. When you don't know something, you should just admit your ignorance and move on. Oscar didn't invite Hopkins in as a partner to GBP for no reason. It was definitely not a one sided arrangement. Since he became a partner, Hopkins as VP Of Eastern Operations, has arranged and managed every GBP fight on the east coast. That's Philly, New York, Jersey, Florida, DC, etc. You do the math.:yep
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as I recall, Mosley was still under contract with Golden Boy as a fighter when he had to give up his shares. Would Hopkins have to sell off as well if he fought on another card, or is his situation different since he claims he's not under contract as a fighter?
from what i recall no. i remember shane saying that he wasn't even under contract with gbp when he fought mora.
Really so your telling me that Oscar had nothing to do with Hopkins involvement in GBP . Seems this article paints a different picture but I'll let you tell it : http://www.hardcoreboxing.net/hopkins_hoya_teamup.htm Again with out. Oscar Hopkins would have never been apart of this know your facts before you spit out rubbish!:hi:
LOL. Amazed by the low level of reading comprehension on the site. I said that although Oscar invited Hopkins into the partnership that it was for a reason and that reason was that Hopkins could do what Oscar could not; Run GBP's east coast operations. I also said that Hopkins primarily interfaced with the CEO of GBP, Schaefer, versus it's figurehead, ODLH. I spelled it out simplier for you this time, so you should be able to follow.:bbb
haha...i love it....now after this split..in *******s eyes oscar is the reason anyone and everyone has a career, money and a job.....lol....all hail oscar the great!! the man who ran golden boy day in and out for years....the great oscar de la hoya..... ****in oscar de la hoya man....he truely does Gods work
