Kelly Pavlik is Kelly Pavlik. In his prime Hopkins could very well have knocked him out.

Hopkins has always been a strategic master, this is nothing new.

I still dont get how people think that taylor even had a chance at beating hopkins in his prime. It just doesnt make since to me but i guess everyone wants to base it on the jones fight. Jones is one of the greatest fighters ever and no one in history can match his speed but that doesnt mean taylor nor calzaghe should be compared to him. Before bernard fought taylor he fought howard eastmen, that fight proved bernard had fallen off, hopkins didnt throw any punches and his stamina had dropped badly. By the time he fought taylor he was well passed his prime and to my eyes and many othere he beat taylor. At this age speed is a problem but in his prime roy would be the ONLY PROBLEM!!!!!!! Believe that, and stop making it seem like bernard has a problem with speed when its really just ROY. Prime 4 prime i think that fight with roy would be really tough

    Calzaghe fans. :good

Btw I agree with Pharaoh and others, 7 is the most appropriate at this time.

He's probably a 'strategic prime (his ability to win fights with his head has never been better)' 10, but his 'physical prime' was long ago and probaby rates at about 5 and a half. Current Hopkins is all time p4p no.1. ring general

IMO, Hopkins' absolute peak, the pinnacle of his athletic assets combining with his skill and strategic assets, was from roughly '97 to '03.

Right now, I'd say either 6 or 7.

    I think he's a good, solid 7.

    Physically he's a 5, but mentally he's a 10.

tarver, wright, pavlik and shouldve beaten slappy by a close s.d. very few fighters ever make runs like that he is easily a 9 when you combine his physical tools at a seven and his mental assets at their correct level which is an 11

Can someone of those who voted "prime" explain to me, how the hell did you think people would continue to take you seriously in this forum after that pick?

You obviously follow the wrong sport.

Agreed. Though he's still smart and can get it done, he's nowhere near his prime.
