Hopkins really is the main LHW champion!!!!

  1. Hopkins Beat (an arguably green) Johnson via KO while the only other man to beat him lost in their 1st match; Tarver. And we all know what Hopkins did to Tarver!

Dawson doesn't count as we all know the truth as Johnson has showed us while Woods got bettered by Tarver ergo Hopkins truly is the genuine LHW champion.

Sooooooooo when Joe beats him Joe becomes the genuine LHW champion; suck it up boys! :good

I'm an idiot according to many for ranking Hopkins as high as P4P#2.

But all I do when I put a p4p list together is that I look at the fighters resume recently and in a long time period and I make conclusions. That's all. I can name 20 fighters more skilled than Cotto and Cotto is still high on my p4p list (and getting higher in between fights) as his victims are just becoming champs one after another... The only other boxer whose resume getting better and better without a fight is - Bernard Hopkins! Just remember when Roy Jones stated that he's ready to stop Glen Johnson earlier than Hopkins did. :scaredas:

Hopkins defeated P4P#3 Winky the last time (ranked #3 by ALL experts - since becoming undisputed LMW champ, toying with Tito, seemingly defeating Taylor and getting an easy win over Quartey). He defeated Tarver before that, barely losing a round vs. a top11-15 p4p-er accoring to experts... The "shot Tarver" didn't look bad this Saturday, did he? I also think "shot Winky" would defeat Pavlik even in 2008, and I'm getting my head ripped off saying things like this...

Most see Hopkins winning ugly fights and they are rights - those are ugly wins. But what they don't see is Hopkins that MAKING THEM LOOK SHOT which is not the same as if they ARE shot.

Check out my list and let me know what you think. I think it on page 2 under "New p4p list".

The Johnson fight wasn't at LHW, so it doesn't count.

Well, even if that doesn't count, it gives you a good indication how good Bernard is... Hopkins won all rounds vs. Glen before stopping him. Jones wanted to break that record stopping Johnson even earlier, but ended up losing every minute of the fight before getting knocked out cold for 5 minutes... in LHW. And Johnson defeated p4p material Dawson at LHW on most of us' scorecard... but not just us, but most experts' scorecard... and even on Hopkins'!

True, but does anybody think he wouldn't whoop Johnson's ass right now at LHW. I doubt it, and the fact that Bernard dominated his ass at MW has a lot to do with that.

I don't think he'd dominate Johnson or stop him at LHW, but he would beat him.

Johnson is a much better fighter than he was back then, and Hopkins was a lot better (and younger) at MW so it would be closer.

Agreed. The Hopkins fight was his first step up in competition.

I wouldn't say Hopkins was a lot better at MW (particularly towards the end of his MW reign) than he is now. Actually I'd say he's much better now than he was for the Taylor fights, but I see your point.

Yeah I mean overall, hopkins was a beast at MW, but you're right about the Taylor fights (although I see them fights as 1-1 not 2-0 to taylor).
