Well thats a reasoned response that cannot easily be refuted.
I dont think Hopkins wins at 160 beat Giardellos myself.I would say that wins over
    Cartier
    Hank
    vejar
    Mims
    calhoun
    Jones
    Boyd
    Cotton
    Panter
    Green
    Durando
    Tiger
Are better than Bernard's wins at 160.But your post is well constructed. The Pavlik win was not at 160 ,lets remember that.Whether Jones could beat Monzon and Hagler is debatable,he beat Hopkins that isnt up for debate.Jones [like Ali ] got by on natural talent.Toney is a craftsman , a ring mechanic, similar to Hopkins,as reflexes and legs go they have had something to fall back on besides natural flair.Hopkins makes my top 10 but not 5 sorry.

Johnson's loss to Hopkins was his only loss at 160. Almost everyone of Johnson's losses are heavily disputed, including to the currently somewhat highly regarded Chad Dawson at 175.

Felix Trinidad was officially undefeated, and had just destroyed William Joppy. Joppy is far from great at 160, but Joppy never lost to a bad fighter. Joppy was also stopped only one other time in his career. That was in his last fight, against an undefeated fighter, at the age of 37. No one ever gave Joppy a blasting like Trinidad. Trinidad could really bang at 154 and 160.

I think average is a fair description, certainly not the best and certainly not the worst.

Given the fighters he did beat, his consistentcy, longevity, and sheer dominance over solid opposition, and his all around ability, I thin he clearly makes the top 10 at the weight. Top 5 is perfectly reasonable depending on what exactly your criteria is and how you view some details.

As ChrisPontius posted earlier, it's similar to Larry Holmes' ranking at heavyweight, which is usually top 5. Longevity, consistencty, and dominance over solid but average competition.

Johnson's last fight before facing Hopkins was his 32nd, he met Dave Hamilton, you remember Dave?, Dave came in with 8-2-0 as his record . Johnson should have been undefeated against the opposition he met before facing Hopkins, thats, if he had any pretensions to class at all.
Trinidad beat Joppy an underwhelming Champ ,a moderate Cheriffi, and Mayorga ,who had no business at 160 .Trinidad's best work was at WELTER,disagree? WE ARE JUDGING THESE MEN AT160 ,any work done prior or subsequently is irrelevant.

Trinidad's best work was done below 160, but it is not irrelevant. If that were the case, Hagler's win over Hearns is irrelevant. Hagler would have defeated a nobody in Duran, and lost to a chump in Leonard. Going by your criteria, Trinidad trumps those guys as a credible defense.
