you cannot on the one hand say lacy was a pile of dog**** and then say i am looking at things in hindsight.

trinidad did look good beating joppy, but i saw trinidad knocked on his arse by a british male model and part time boxer at welterweight and i never felt he had a chance v hopkins and i stated that on boxing.com at the time .

i never put any calzaghe opponent on a pedestall of elite fighter status as you have done with hopkins, merley debated were they elite fighters at the weight class and time that hopkins fought them.

IMO my post never obscured any facts .

i do not buy the ring , but if they were in the ring top ten when hopkins fought them i beleive yoiu.

that just shows why i do not buy the ring.

personally i think chad dawson would beat wright and tarver comfertably at 175 but i doubt he was ranked above wright or tarver.

i bet the ring still rates dawson below wright and hopkins ?

You did not answer my question. I don't buy the 'Ring' either, and never have.

    Kindly answer my questions.

Incidentally, I think Dawson is the 2nd best fighter south of Cruiser.

who are the best 2 at 168-175 then? also even if bhops is only top 4, it's still a worthy fight as calzaghe appears to have a few more fights in him so long as he continues proper conditioning (so that he could fight the other 3 top guys).

B-Hop is the best at 175 until someone beats him...plain and simple...he beat the universally recognized champion...

Maybe Dawson would beat him, Jones would probably beat him if they fought again...

BUTTTTTTTTTTTT, until someone DOES beat him at 175, he is the best...

    You are right, sean!

Hopkins is their No. 1...Dawson is only their No. 5...

They don't rate Winky at LHW but at MW...at No. 2 - and he makes their p4p TOP 9...Dawson isn't in their Top 10...

    :huh

did i not point out clearly that i do not beleive that winky/trinidad /tarver were elite lb 4 lb fighters at the weightclasses and time that hopkins fought them but good fighters past there prime or fighting out of there weightclass .

He beat Tarver, then fought Winky...In the meantime, who else should he fight?

You're qualifying my question. Forget it.

I thought you were a straightforward, to-the-point kind of guy. Even you have fallen victim to the group delusion. Disappointing, but not really surprising.

When Hopkins beats Calzaghe, RJJ or Toney I will call him a minor legend. If he beats some of the other big guys that he recently called out like Haye then I will call a major legend. The oportunity is there for the taking so quit all the talking.

    Except for Mikkel Kessler -

Dawson - no doubt at all - by a mile

    Pavlik

    Clinton Woods

    Taylor???

...all would provide more of a challenge than Hopkins, tricky as he is.

i beleive that hopkins is an ATG but that the case for the fighters he beat were names but not ATG equals when hopkins beat them.

While there is not much question that Bernard is a middlewt legend and an all time great, his resume above 160 is not even remotely in the same league as Joe's.

    Tarver ?

Lost to a declining Roy and caught a shot Roy with the one punch that causes him to be remembered at all. He was 3-2-0 in his five fights previous to Bernard. Hardly an ATG, or even a great.

    Ronald Wright ?

A great in his own right (and in his own weight of 154). Lost at 154 to Vargas.
    Victories above 160 : 0

And that (along with an insignificant loss to some unknown in his first try at 175) constitutes Bernard's entire resume above 160.

Hardly compares to Lacy, Eubank, Kessler, Veit, Reid, and 39 others.

Hopkins is... he is a ******.

How can he call a fighter out. Then make out that he should not fight him?
