Here's something I've noticed from the few events I've watched; the MMA fanboys go on about how it's much better than boxing, multi faceted(sp) etc but the only thing that gets them off their seats is when the fighters start standing upright and throwing punches.....the ironing is delicious.

Hopkins is one of my all time favourites. However he comes across as a total clown with this nonsense. Why do so many in the boxing fraternity continually have a go at MMA? they atheletes in teh UFC are every bit as skilled and fit as boxers.

To me it shows insecurity of the threat posed by UFC. We should be conifdent enough in our sport without having to slate MMA at every turn. Boxing could learn a lot from the UFC in promotion, shows, weight divisions, and champions...

The crowd get off their seats for punching, kicking, knees, ground & pound and submission attempts.

No there not as skilled though are they? Most of them just use strength to win and many are on growth hormone also due to the lack of drug testing within the sport.

Its a **** sport to watch and the so called p4p'ers are only marginally better then the also rans. Its a joke sport that has been brilliantly marketed to take advantage of the failings of boxing promoters to provide fans with the matches they want to see.

For me MMA sits somewhere between WWE and Thai boxing. Its got no appeal to anyone who likes the skill, timing, power and clean work of boxing. Putting your fists up. Who cares what an MMA fighter could do if they got a boxer on the floor. Its the restriction of only using your hands that makes boxing so appealing.

Now go and rear naked choke some ball bags:good

Ha Ha as if this Diablo joker said 'The crowd get off their seats for some GROUND AND POUND' :rofl :rofl :rofl:rofl:rofl

MMA is **** and thats the end of it. All these people liking it just like it because its a violent sport and its 'cool' to like these kinds of things. Its like a new 'fad' that has come around and pretending to follow it and wearing Affliction T-Shirts on the **** makes you cool somehow.

MMA is a sport for violent homosexuals who like to grind around on the floor in a 69 or who like punching and elbowing men who are already semi-unconscious.

Its licensed bar-room brawling and thats it ! Theres no skill involved in it at all. I hate the fact that people say 'oooh Silva is so techinical, Fedor is so good at this etc etc'
Its bollocks they are just stronger than the other man PLAIN AND SIMPLE

No time for it and no time for its fans !

Thats my opinion anyway :good Good Luck to those who follow it :good

Ok dan so "Theres no skill involved in it at all"? lol Fair enough you dont like it but thats just ******ed. In fact your whole post is ******ed.

To say guys like Lyoto Machida have no skill is just insane..no wait your just an ignorant idiot:patsch. His speed, footwork and counter striking skills are off the chain.

UFC makes more US PPV sales during the course of a year than boxing does. MMA is here to stay, morons like you just need to get used to it.

I prefer RJJ who says he respects anyone who is involved in any sort of 1 on 1 combat.

There is no skill involved in it? it is just strength? why doesn't the worlds strongest man just join and become heavyweight champion then? get a grip. I am a boxer, I am a boxing fan, but your comments are an absolute disgrace and denigrate the work MMA atheletes put in.

Skill, timin and power aint involved? get a grip...
