I've seen Hops fights against, Oscar, Tito, Taylor, Wright, Tarver, Echols 2x, Mercardo 2x, Roy Jones, Eastman and a few other and none of those guys could get into a rhythm against Hopkins

    Hopkins simply makes fights ugly

It's his best trait...more so than his tremendous right hand. The ability to fluster his opponents through any means of fouling, countering or holding. He is arguably the most frustrating fighter in the game right now. He makes your brain shut down out there.

Can he do it against a cool hand luke like Calzaghe?

It's a fight between two fighters who usually force their opponents to fight their fight/in their pace, so it's difficult to say what will happen.

Hopkins will TRY to break Jazzy Joe's rhythm (if he's got rhythm at all), he hill TRY to force an ugly inside fight, moving in with his head, short hooks on the inside, shoulder moves, counter hooks, turning Joe around and off-balance, smart movement so he will use his arsenal that helped him to defeat Winky or Tarver lately.

In the meantime Joe will TRY to box from the outside as well as fight on the inside. He'll TRY to overwhelm his opponant with quick, awkward, accurate body-head punches and quick, solid combos.

While Calzaghe loves to come forward, both are exceptionally good counter-punchers. Calzaghe's got crazy speed and punch output while Hopkins' timing and defense is umatched today. So it's gonna be tactical fight, but as exciting as Calzaghe can make it and as ugly as Hopkins can force it. I think the speed will be a major difference and with speed and smart movement, Joe will FORCE Hopkins to fight at a higher pace and I see an UD victory in favor of Joe because of his punch output (dropped but still high), but tasting those counter hooks a few times in the process.

It's gonna be a hardcore boxing-lovers fight with skills not a fan-friendly brawl with hearts.
