    You were always a shoddy poster but you've just become a laughing-stock caricature of yourself now.

    For the record, I had Hopkins winning 7-4-1.

    You mean against scrubs at the start of his career? Don't mean to disrespect those guys, but stoppages against that level of fighter doesn't indicate KO power. And they were stoppages, only 2 I believe were KOs.

    Besides all that, that period of Joe's career was up till him winning the title. Hardly the prime most people would choose in fantasy match-ups. Is it that version of youre goin for here?

    Or are you sayin he still had KO power after that, and if so, when?

    Hopkins would win by wide decision. Calzaghe never had good power in his hands. Most of his knockout wins were over C and D class fighters. He never once knocked out or stopped a A or B class guy like Hopkins has. B-Hop stopped both DLH and Tito. Calzaghe couldn't even put away a stationary target in Lacy back in 06.

    Trinidad = Blown-up Welterweight.

    De La Hoya = You guessed it, Blown-up Welterweight.

    And Hopkins was a blown up middleweight, and yet thats Joe's best win. Whats your point?

    Will somebody put this chin-checking, Calzaghe-nuthugging troll out of his misery? :-(

    Anyway; in their fight, Hopkins constantly countered Calzaghe's wild, open-handed swinging with pinpoint right hands. In the Tito fight Bhop was jabbing, throwing combinations and had the legs to move very impressively. Plus he's always been good at neutralising the southpaw jinx by keeping his left foot on the outside. If Bhop had been more aggressive and upped his workrate in the first fight, he would have taken that decision. A 2001 hopkins damn sure has a higher workrate.

    Hopkins by UD 117-111, with a knockdown to boot. I don't think Joe's extra power would have made any difference, he was never a devastating puncher and Hopkins' defence neutralises the best punchers regardless.

    Wow. What's next, Hopkins had a glass jaw too? And You actually think Calzaghe was shot when he faced Hopkins? :rofl:rofl

    You know what, I don't think I need to bother responding to your post in full. I'll leave you to go back, look at what you've written, and think of a suitable punishment for yourself. :hi:

    Well I thought Hopkins won their fight so I'd have to say that a younger Hopkins would easily beat a Calzaghe who was still WBO level. It would be a mismatch in my opinion.

    Hopkins would have schooled him. Calzaghe would be lucky to get away with a 9-3 loss.

    Hopkins was by then an established Light-Heavyweight who worked with renowned conditioning expert Mackie Shilstone. It wasn't even Calzaghe's best win. His performances against fellow champs Lacy and Kessler were far superior.

    Ya, pity he never had speed and power. Who did he ever stop that's even remotely close to Hopkin's class?
