Calzaghe wins a clearer decision than before.

His performances again Lacy and Kessler were superior, but they're a poorer level of opposition to B-Hop, so what would you expect. What a person thinks is his best win is subjective, but Hopkins is the best name on his record.

What does Shilstone have to do with it? The fact is Hokpins was a career Middleweight, so does that negate win for Calzaghe?

Calazaghe - styles win fights and B-Hop does not have the right tools to beat Calzaghe.

And a Hatton with good defence and counter punching would beat Pacquiao.

Calzaghe in his early days had monster power in both hands (look at his KO ratio before he fought Eubank). Chris Eubank was decked in round 1 and he always had a cast iron jaw. Eubank claims he hit like a mule in the fight, the hittest puncher he ever faced. Say with you will about Eubank but he was in the ring with alot of good ones. Its a shame Calzaghe hands were such a huge problem (read his book) as he would have been remebered far better then he should be. I truly believe Hopkins won their fight 114-113. This is definitely the most debated decision I have ever encountered (as in other fans have scored it HUGE in Joe's favour). Hopkins tactics on the night were despicable but he still won in my eyes.

Personally at their peaks there is very little between them. 2 HOF's no doubt. In my eyes a peak RJJ was better then them both

Trinidad was a blown up welter weight fighting Hopkins.

To this day I can't believe how overrated this win is.

Hopkins, pretty easily. The evidence is in the fight they did have. Hopkins, as shown by the Taylor fights, didn't have the stamina to be busy for 12 rounds anymore. Whenever he did open up in the Calzaghe fight, the gap in skill and accuracy was there for all to see. The superfit, supertough Hopkins of 2001 sorely outclasses any version of Joe. IMHO.

Read the other posts in the thread.

Are you basing it on just knocking down Eubank?

i cannot believe the sheer ignorance on this forum from brain washed americans, your talkin as though hopkins is fighting another overhyped welterweight here.

if a glass jaw fraud like jermain taylor can beat borenard twice, then seriously what chance would he have against prime calzaghe?

this fight would be a wide ud for calzaghe 118-110

if a neutral ref is in place and the fight takes place in cardiff, at super-middleweight then

    calzaghe ko's hopkins rd1

    its irrefutable.

    Absolutely outstanding post again. :happy

These nuthuggers make me want to projectile vomit. They talk about Hopkins as if he is some Marvel Comics superhero. In reality he was a cherry-picker whose best wins are against blown-up Welterweights, and a chronically ill Plodder Pavlik.:rofl

    Calzaghe clowned him. It's irrefutable.
