Hokins will do enough holding to keep the beating from being too severe

Hopkins has a major problem in this fight which is to block Pavlik's one-twos. Never mind Bernie scoring, just think how is gonna block the left jab and avoid the damaging right hand. Jermain's defense was taken right out of the way by that left jab and he was wide open for a right blaster. Remember Jermain imposed himself physically on Hops... Sure the fight is at 170 pounds and there's just 1 inch between them but Hops is in to run risks.

This is the least likely scenerio, because Bernard Hopkins is to crafty to ever recieve a beatdown. He has fought better fighters than Pavlik, he is twice as experianced as Pavlik, and I expect him to counter him to a 12 round decision. I hope once this happens, Hopkins will finally start getting the respect that his incredible career deserves.

I think Hopkins will make this competitive, at least for the first six rounds or so. He will then start to tire and Pavlik will outlast him down the stretch. Pavlik will close the gap in the championship rounds and nick a close points verdict, similar to Calzaghe.

If he is the same fighter that fought Calzaghe, he will win.

However as has been mentioned, that is a big IF, at his age, he could lose it overnight. And TBH I have a gut feeling he will take a beating.

Some people still drastically under estimate Pavlik. BHop will be competetive for 3 or 4 rounds. He'll try to clinch and rough Pavlik up on the inside, but he'll learn quickly that he is in with a kid whose physical strength is no joke. Expect to see some good right hands and left hooks landing on BHops ribs while Pavlik eats a few counter-rights like they were Snickers bars.

Pavlik will find Hopkins harder to hit than anyone he's faced up to now, but after 3 or 4 rounds of Hopkins fighting at a pace he can no longer handle, the tide will turn. Round 5 or 6 Pavlik will start to get his timing down, BHop will start running out of steam, and KP will find a home for that nasty ass jab, and big right hand. By the end of the 8th round Pavlik will start bouncing Hopkins around the ring like Kobe dribbling a B-Ball. From that point on Hopkins takes a beating, and gets stopped inside 10 rounds.

I think Pavlik has the power and range to make this a different fight than we saw in his last outing. Watch the last fight. Joe made it easy for Hopkins to clinch.

I think it was Bigbone that posted a video of Hopkins saying that NO ONE can throw 40 to 50 HARD punches per round. I think this is where Bhop is under estimating Pavlik.

I agree. Pavlik is longer and his jabs are stiff, you dont exacltey walk through them. I think he keep hops at bay with them or thrust them out to back hops up and set up the right. I really think hops gets KO'd, least I hope cuz thats my prediction and I want every one in here to think Im cool.
