If Pavlik beats Bernard soundly, does Pavlik become the most avoided boxer in the world?

Hard to say. I KNOW AA will still want a shot at him. Kessler will SAY he wants to fight him.

Calzaghe/Hopkins tells us almost nothing about how Pavlik/Hopkins will go down. Calzaghe and Pavlik have one thing in common; both throw a lot of punches. The similarities pretty much stop right there.

    And Pavlik NEVER does this:

I think it'll be more a case of everyone seeing him as a potential meal ticket and that he'll be able to get any fight he wants.

Yodaddy i think is nuts to even think Pavlik will beat up Hopkins. People seem to forget that this will be the first time Pavlik will be moving up at 170 pounds in which his power might not be the same. Example the Taylor rematch at 166 pounds. Hopkins has never ever came close of taking a beating in his whole career. Sure Hopkins is 43 years old but so what? Hopkins even at that age won't mean he will get beat up by Pavlik. I could see Pavlik winning by a close decision but no way will Hopkins get tko by Pavlik.

dude, the rematch with JT Pavs power was the same. he hurt JT late n the fight with a body shot. it sealed the victory.

JT just BOXED a lot more and stayed out of harms way. IMO Hopkins is too old to stay away that long from KP.

You lost every bit of credibilty you may have had with your second and third sentences. Try doing a little research before posting. It's not that hard.

JT fought what was arguably the best fight of his career, and Pavlik injured both hands. Diminished power had nothing to do with anything. Pavlik has fought at or above the SMW limit 5 times. They were all tomato cans, but he blew them all out in a couple rounds.

I think this is a very interesting fight and though I think Kelly will win I think he'll have a lot of difficulties with Ol Nard. No way a 1-2 fighter is going to hammer Hopkins.

Pavlik is going to be the smaller man, regardless of the fact he's fought a few bums above middle weight. If he can be hurt bad by Taylor and put on his arse by lesser fighters Hopkins at 170, who hurt Calzaghe and Tarver, he can certainly hurt Pavlik.

Obviously Bernard is an old man, but aside from Calzaghe he threw far more punches against Winky and Tarver at light heavy than he did in his latter days at middle. He can certainly still fight.

Calzaghe didn't beat him purely with workrate it was his unorthodox style as well, something Pavlik doesn't have.

I can imagine a lot of Pavlickers will be saying 'well, no one looks good against Hopkins' after the fight.

Well, "Team Pavlik" will be living with all the film the can get on Nard. So, we shall see what they come up with. Nard isn't likely to invent anything new between now and then.

I think Hopkins loses this fight but I also think he does much better than given credit for, I think Hopkins needed that loss from Joe I mean damn when you talk about fighting Calzaghe its almost a boring thought in itself if your hopkins kinda hard to get yourself up for a fight with Joe when he didnt have a household name in the states.
Pavlik on the other hand has a household name here in the US, and I think Hopkins will be up for this fight as he was for the Tarver fight. if he pulls this fight off, Wow, if he does that he will go down as the best middleweight EVER
