I've seen it suggested on another thread that Hopkins will enter the ring at 190 lbs and Calzaghe won't be able to take his power.

Will he really come in this heavy after fighting for years at 160?

Does anyone know what he weighed against Tarver?

What weight will Calzaghe come in at seeing he struggles so badly to make 168?

Also who will be physically the stronger?

I presume Joe will come in at 185.

I would be surprised if Bernard came in any more than that also.

Joes power will be fierce at 175, I guarantee. He looks so sharp.

Anyone who's ever trained in a boxing gym knows how impressive that speedball work is...amazing.

He does seem to be bigger though and is certainly putting more pop into his punches in this one than I've seen before:

When they stepped on the unofficial HBO scales upon their arrival at the arena, Tarver was 187 pounds and Hopkins 182. Hopkins' arms were very thick and still defined so it's reasonable to say that he worked on body strength and didn't put excessive weight. 190 pounds is too heavy so that he can use those back legs and that offset movement with body feints, I doubt Mackie Shilstone let's him put more than 10 pounds... Furthermore, it seems reasonable to say that his camp has understood that you cannot beat Calzaghe with one-punch power ( Lacy fight) and that he will have to have the body mobility to feint and counter - 190 pounds completely out of the question in my book...

I'm not sure if it was you but somebody suggested recently that working those extra pounds off down to 168 even though it hurts Calzaghe it sharpens his focus and aggression.

Joe's not putting on muscle to make 175, he's just not losing as much water as he had to do to make 168. That means he'll be more hydrated and quite possibly sharper.
