Hopkins (who fought Trinidad) v Duran (who fought Hagler)
Whaddya think? Would Duran be more aggressive in this one?

Hopkins. A great middleweight should beat a great lightweight (who was great at welter for 2 fights). Hopkins would outmuscle him and out-fight him up close, and Duran wouldn't fare well enough on the outside either. Duran was tricky and slipped shots from the outside, and landed some right hands upstairs and downstairs, but it wouldn't be enough.

Hopkins by clear UD, like the Hagler fight should have been.

bhop ud12. isn't it obvious? the only notable ****ing win on duran's resume at middleweight was iran barkley...

size difference wouls be a factor, and bhop's skills at middleweight would **** duran off

Hopkins via decision. If he fought Duran in a cagey tactical fight similar to the way Hagler did he'd get the job done no problem. No way is Hopkins coming out at the end of this fight with a puffed up right eye either. His defense would be too good for Duran to land right hand leads on a regular basis.

Hopkins could beat Duran while being the aggressor or standing off and fighting him at arms length with lateral movement.

It would be like Duran fighting Hagler and Hearns packaged together. I would like to make a case for Duran sneaking a points victory, but thats simply not possible.

    Hopkins would win comfortably.

To be fair to Hagler, even though he arguably had a poor night, he still took at least ten rounds against Duran. Not a close fight.

I'm not particularly a fan, but Hopkins looked absolutely fantastic against Trinidad. Duran is not as limited as Trinidad, but i think Hopkins would beat him comfortably.

Hopkins would hold Hagler to death. I go for Hagler in this one; but Hopkins may have the edge in this fight.

Hopkins wins a very, very wide decision. I can't see Duran outboxing Hopkins, so it would be hard to score a round for Roberto IMO. The style is one that would give him problems at his best, and his best was a few years earlier and 25lbs lighter.

Hopkins by clear decision. Hagler - Duran was a tactical, but not great action fight. This one would be even more tactical with less action.

I don't see any way Duran could win this fight. At 6'1", Hopkins size alone is almost too much. Duran would have to be able to get the fight in his range, and I don't know of a way for him to do it.

I wouldn't say size alone as Barkley was around 6' 1" as well. However, Hopkins' ring generalship and precision is on a different planet to Iran's. IMO Hopkins would more than likely show Duran respect, just like he did with Trinidad and De La Hoya. He'd move through the gears and slowly become more aggressive as the fight progressed.

Hopkins has the chin and durability, also the inside game of Hagler. And he's also got the reach and height to move around the perimeter of the ring, use the jab, and drop the right hand down the pipe, ala Hearns.

Hopkins is too big, too strong and too good a middleweight for Duran.
