Hopkins v froch?

  1. Bernard hopkins v karo murat has been confirmed will take place

I now very much doubt he will ever fight nathan cleverly and has bandied some other names about
    Golovkin(surely not)
    Bute
    Froch

Now say froch beats kessler and hopkins gets past murat this gets interesting, froch would want ward but its unlikely as he was comprehensively beaten last time out
So with limited time left for carl how about stepping up and trying to old man the old man
It could be in vegas or an arena in england,it would appeal to bernard much more than clev who hasnt proved himself.
I normally hate watching bernard and calzaghe-hopkins was a horrible fight to watch but froch would try to play him at his game and hustle him on the inside it could be a gruelling battle and one i would like to see providing hopkins doesnt age during murat fight

    Could it happen?

Hopkins is such a ridiculously hard fight for Froch when you consider both styles. He would be made to look terrible. His only hope would be by stoppage. Hopkins would bore the night away, neutralize everything Carl has got, and take it on points. Froch could put the pressure on and stop him though. But I personally think Hopkins is to smart and to experienced to get involved in Froch's preferred fight.

Hopkins wins on points, close fight though.

It won't happen because if Froch wins he's beaten an old man and if Froch loses he's been exposed by an old man. It's a lose lose situation for Froch all round.

Plus if he loses it, he will forever be in Calzaghe's shadow.

I don't think Eddie would ever encourage that fight. It can only break Froch. It wouldn't do a thing for him, or his legacy.

If he wins it - "He beat an old man, Calzaghe beat him when he was younger."

If he loses, the talking will never ever stop and Calzaghe would solidify himself as an all time great, without needing to fight in a ring to back it up. Hopkins would do it for him, he kind of is right now by keeping winning.

Theres two big winnable fights for Froch in the US. Hopkins & Chavez Jnr.

Hopkins would not be able to stand up for Froch at this point in his career.

Hopkins would win with relative ease.

What would be worse for Froch is that the harder he'd try, the more he'd play into Bernard's hands.

On the inside he'd be old-manned or dominated, and on the outside he's just not sharp enough to get the better of the old man.

    Hops 116-112 ish.

Froch might take the first two, and the last two, but would lose everything in between.

Slow-handed, low-output guy with poor technical skills and limited tools, vs Hopkins?

Never going to end well. Hopkins UD.

  9. It's true maybe clev although inexperienced would
Stand a better chance because of his fast hands and high workrate would rack up points against bhops spoiling

I hate Hopkins style but you have to admire the man
In most peoples eyes he schools froch,at 48

    He is truly inspirational

    Cleverly was confused by Bellew.

Hopkins has forgotten more in the last week than Bomber will ever know in his entire life.... 119-109 x3.

  11. I'm not saying cleverly would win,but his style
    Would cause Bernard problems

Cloud is bigger, hits harder and is higher output that Frock, yet Hopkins disarmed him completely. Froch won't be able to get into range enough to pin Hopkins down.

I think anybody who truly knows **** about boxing will agree with this. :good

Hopkins, however old he is, is one of the smartest fighters around, his in-ring IQ is of the hook. Carl Froch isnt on that level of smarts, and would find it terribly difficult to pin Hopkins down. Froch is just the perfect style for Hopkins, Hopkins is hell for a fighter like Froch.

Froch is very awkward and a long night for anyone, but Hopkins would make him miss and tie him up all night. Dirty tactics, boring tactics the lot, if Ward beat Froch easily. Hopkins would also.

Utterly **** looking fight for the casuals, but a game of chess for the enthusiasts. Some might not find it interesting, but I for one would. :good

    Hopkins is a master.
