Hopkins/Haye doesn't even register to me...its a quite bizarre fight. Hopkins would probably love a HW title but whats in it for Haye? He surely wants to fight the Klitschko's. Dawson will probably get KTFO by Pascal now and I'll look dumb.
What on earth are you talking about? Where did my post suggest I thought his previous wins were irrelevant. Hopkins win over Pavlik was incredible which is why I want him to fight someone relevant. RJJ is irrelevant. He got destroyed by Danny Green in a round. Might as well have a Tyson/Holyfield fight while we are at it.
To be fair, Hopkins is the only one who really spoke about the fight. I think, what with Haye signing for GB and them both fighting on the same night, people put 2 & 2 together. I think your main concern with Dawson and Pascal is Chad getting robbed in Canada. I'm saying he's earned the right to fight a bull****, irrelevant fight without being given too hard a time about it. That's all.
Fair enough. I still won't have any interest. I'm just disappointed as this probably means his time fighting at the top is no more and wanted to see him produce one last great victory.
Dawson/Hopkins is the ONLY logical fight to be made provided both win, as they should. Well, Hopkins will win for sure but Dawson has a tough assignment in Canada. There is nobody else in the light heavyweight division, nobody else in the cruiserweight division, most of the good super middles are tied up except for Bute which is an unlikely fight. It's the only one that makes any sense on a boxing level...its such an obvious fight its ridiculous. But knowing how boxing shoots itself in the foot, the economics won't be right for such a 'risky' fight and they'll both do something disapointing.
I didn't say it would be his last fight. I said we won't see another great victory from him again. I don't think he will beat another top opponent. It will probably be 2011 before his next fight after RJJ he will be too old to compete at the highest level by then imo.
He had him on ***** street at the end of one of the fights, can't remember which one, but it definitely happened.
He did'nt nearly knock him out, he just hurt him alittle bit. Jermaine Taylor did not go down, and he carried on fighting.. "After Bernard Hopkins landed the punch, he did that little smile and shrugged his shoulders up and down". He did'nt nearly knock him out.
