I disagree. Tarver is one of the hardest hitting guys at 175. He can crack. So yes Hopkins has faced a big puncher he faced one not long ago in Tarver. Not to mention Pavlik doesn't hit harder than Tarver does.

Hopkins has an excellent chin. Still, at his age he's taking a massive risk against a young lion with punching power.

o.k. either I am misinterpretting the original thread question or you guys are misinterpretting me. The thread asks for "big punchers" and "really hard hitters" not guys with good or decent or simply above average power.

Compare Eastman to Trinidad. When they both fought Joppy Tito got him out of there early and hurt him badly with every single shot that landed. Eastman went 12 with him.

Against Cherifi, Trinidad got him out of there quicker and in more devastating fashion than eastman. Trinidad even at middle IMO was a really big puncher and a harder puncher than Eastman. Eastman is a good puncher but I don't think that he fits the description of what the thread author was looking for.
