Not many are as crafty and slick as B-Hop. On top of that, none many have that right hand that Hopkins does. Remember BEFORE The Calzaghe-Hopkins fight, Bernard chided Calzaghe about his inability to see right hands and at one point even said "What for the right hands, they come outta nowhere!" Sure enough in their fight a sneaky right hand put Calzaghe on the canvas early in round 1. They also had another (Rare) exchange where a right hand wobbles Calzaghe before the round ended. The problem is Hopkins fell asleep from rounds 3-9, essentially rounds where a pure machine like Calzaghe just turns it on and thrives. Hopkins made a break for it later on...but Calzaghe was still coming strong and scoring at will, even taking a moment out of his busy schedule to booty **** Hopkins.
People keep saying that Calzaghe would just simply outwork him, but people seem to forget that the last fight was a very close SD. It can go any way, but I like B-hops chances in a rematch.
i agree. richardson knows b-hop better than anyone so he'd know how to bring out the best of b-hop. b-hop would also have to beat joe decisively unless joe asks for a rubber match. b-hop would have to find a way to take joe's mobility and neutralize his pressure. if b-hop can repeat what he did the in the first 4 rounds of the fight throughout the 2nd fight, he can win the second. like i've said before, joe looks beatable, but it's easier said than done and tho he's no ko king he's a balsy fighter and i respect him.
You really should check out boxrec and you`ll see Joe added another 0 to Hopkins record. :hi: P.S Here`s another newsflash for you. Man has landed on the moon!!
Would`ve, could`ve, should`ve don`t mean anything. You will need to live with the fact that when they met Joe left the ring the victor Hopkins the vanquished.
