Much better... But I was not impressed by Hopkins in the Calzaghe fight... "master class" in the first couple of rounds and then nothing.

I wasn't impressed with him either, but Buncey clearly was. Steve was very cautionary before the fight - and as it turns out he was right on the money. Bunce said specifically that Calzaghe would underestimate the power of Hopkins. He was exactly right.

BHop did well early on and if Buncey gave that opinion of the early part of the fight fair enough. That isn't his opinion of the fight as a whole though

Hopkins would also know what to expect and he's a much smarter fighter than Joe and Richardson would be training him for this fight which IMO, would make a difference cause he knows Hopkins better than Roach did. Hopkins wins this fight even easier than the first time.

Yes, it was his opinion of the fight as a whole. If it was broken up into sections he would have specified that. Calzaghe had tremendous difficulty landing throughout. Hopkins seemed to land whenever he threw punches. I can see why Bunce said that.

Are you really comparing the Hopkins-Calzaghe outcome to the above?

It's a hypothetical question, so the answer should begin with "Would've, could've, should've".
It's ok to have a problem when someone bashes Calzaghe, but you seem to have a problem when someone just disagrees with you about a prediction.
The man's opinion was that Hopkins would avenge his loss, you should respect that.

Hopkins had far more scope to fight Pavlik. Such is the style of Pavlik that it would have been far more beneficial to actually engage in a fight, albeit in phases that to hug and hold Pavlik.

If Hopkins opened up on Calzaghe, he would lose heavily, thats why he wouldnt fight the same fight against Joe as he would Kelly.

a few questions that would affect the fight

where does this hypothetical fight take place ?

say we turned it on its head.

this time the fight is in the millenium dome.

this time there are 3 uk judges

this time there is a ref who keeps the fight clean.

do the people picking hopkins beleive hopkins would win given these same circumstances ?

There is no reason for a rematch. Calzaghe one decisively the first time and will win again. If Hopkins thinks that he made errors in the first one, and will box with Calzaghe in the second, he will relive hell. Hopkins gameplan was perfect and it still wasn't enough.

JOE CALZAGHE IS SIMPLY THE MASTER OF NLP...

    "the infamous white boy confrontation"..

he looked straight into Hopkins eye and gave him a direct command "IF YOU FIGHT ME YOU WILL LOSE" note right after that Bernard's facial expression and the way he backs up one step. He was very intimidated/unsure of Joe, albeit in a very subtle way.
    NLP- neuro lenguistical programming

joes mental strength is his greatest asset it placifies him to an extent of almost uber self control/coolness,if they fought again hopkins would lose again.
