the low-blow thing is touchy. hopkins did exaggerate, but for calzaghe to react as quickly and as gay as he did, he either had to know he landed something meaningful, or he dreamed about having but sex with hopkins before the match.:think
**** not again please! You actively trying to stir **** up? There was a thread bout this like the day before last and been a million others in the past, look them up coz no-one who seen this shiz before gonna offer a decent comment now. for the sake of courtesy I had a draw (no official score as it was all i had to stay awake) in a stinker of a fight no-one deserved to win
115-112 Calzaghe for me, but neither man should be proud of that fight. Hopkins talked it up and tried to gather hype and then did nothing. I hate when fighters win fights on workrate, this sport is about violence, but there was nothing else to score on because Bernard threw straight rights, missed and then clinched. Terrible fight.
Only watched the fight the once and my gut reaction was Hopkins edged it. Hopkins took Calzaghe to to school and back for the first few rounds, but then that was about it. Calzaghe came on stronger as the fight progressed, but by about the eighth round I think I'd given up caring. Calzaghe got the nod, and although I thought Hopkins won, I'm not going to argue with the decision. I'm certainly not going to watch the fight again though.
I don't remember my exact scorecard, and personally don't feel like rewatching that fight tonight! I do remember having Hops by a pt, and 6 rds to 6..but don't remember which ones for who? Not a bad decision by any stretch either way. Calzaghe IMO had the higher workrate, and Hops scored the more effective puches! Some people go to far IMO..I don't see how anyone can score it 9-3 for either guy (and in some cases even worse)! Unless you are blindly loyal to one of them! A decent fight among 2 top line guys. It would have been nice to get this fight 3 years earlier, but such is life!
