Dunno but if his have gone mine cant be long for this world. :yep

  4. Funny thing is - San Rafael has quoted the guy each time, so we can still see IrnBru's posts by looking at what SR put :)

Well, there's too much nonsense in this thread for me to bother reading all of it, but I decided that for my own satisfaction I'd check out San Rafael's estimates of scoring punches etc. Not the whole fight, I randomly chose round 5 - if my figures came out the same or similar I would accept his for the whole fight, if not, I'd know his figures arent trustworthy.

I didnt have any decent slow-mo ability, so there's a lot of ambiguous stuff I didnt score at all. I just counted Calzaghe's round 5 punches, and only the ones I was fairly sure about. I got 7, compared to San Rafael's 3. It'd likely be more if I could thoroughly analyse some of the flurries and get different angles on some stuff. So personally I dont consider SR's figures reliable.

Nice, it's about time someone actually dug into this. Here's where it gets interesting. Now, if you would tell us at what point these 7 punches occured they can be looked at. Give a proper accounting. It's a perfect round for even the more casually interested to have a go with. Compubox had Calzaghe landing 11/32. Not alot to count.

It's simple, Diomedes. You simply scored punches that did not land. Look closer, bro.

san rafael get over it, joe out worked him i mean what did hopkins do other then land one or 2 punches a round? joe came to fight all bhop did was negative tatics, we and all judges know bhop is his worse nightmare thats why he lost against taylor he just doesn't land enough! joe won the fight fair and sqaure get over it.

why dnt u quote the compubox numbers, joe landed more punches on bhop then anyone before

I've dug into this about as much as I care to - I did it mainly for my own personal curiosity, and I dont have the time or inclination to go into it any further. I rewatched each a few times, and tried to freeze frame where possible, and I'm pretty confident that I judged what I saw correctly. My main purpose in mentioning it at all is that I dont think people should just accept your figures without checking for themselves.

It's a point I've been trying to make myself throughout this thread. This thing should be filled with posts like yours instead of some of the jabbering we've gotten instead.

Now, it's a shame you aren't willing to back up your numbers. Simply noting when a punch connected takes no effort. Perhaps you just aren't willing to admit you're mistaken or creating a falsehood. I've watched it again as well, and those are the only conclusions I can come to. There were some sequences that were challenging to properly read, so I wouldn't be surpised if you were just mistaken. I appreciate your input nonetheless.

    First of Merry Xmas San

Second this thing you have for this fight is baffling. Most people agree it's a close fight, (114-113 Calzaghe all 3 times i watched it), but it's no robberry or Controversial fight, seriously where would you rank it in terms of Horrible descisions, it's not even close for this year let alone anything else.

The gif of the exhange the other day is a good marker for how you see the fight, Calzaghe looks like a drunk ****** trying to catch a moth while Hopkins looks classy, but Calzaghe wins that exchange. That you think he didnt shows how you've come to the figures youve posted here but it doesnt make it correct. If you wanna debate that exchange, bump the thread or post the gif here.

At least you put some effort into a Calzaghe thread which doesnt usually happen so i commend you for that.

If this fight was 9-3 Hopkins, you must have had Mayweather shutting DLH out. To me the latter was a good example of pure boxing triumphing over 'aggression'. The former, not so much.

XMas, man. Look, that "body punch" you were making claims on landed on the upper part of Hopkins' cup. LOL, you need to watch the round. Cortez hits the area between his thigh and his dick and warns Calzaghe to keep the punches up after that shot. He was warned for a low blow. That's not a scoring punch, bra.

No way, I scored it for Hopkins by a point or so. Agreed on Mayweather. Alot of De La Hoya's **** missed. Alot.

Yo... Thank you for Doing this. & thank you for shutting these assholes down also.

Anybody who watched that fight saw Joe completely out of his element. A man capable of throwing 1200 pnches only threw 700. Compubox said he connected 200+ times. everybody watching knows that was a farce. No Lumps, no scar, no bruises...after being hit over 200 times????

Anyhow. Bernard made joe look like a Rudimentary fighter in that fight. His defense was superb. I don't get how a man could get knocked down. Get hit w/ significant blows & not lland any of his own But take the belt from the champ. I knew BErnard won that fight. Thanx again San for the Breakdown.
