Hopkins vs Calzaghe...who do you pull for?!?!

I really would like to see Joe C win, DO I even really have to say that though I mean he is on my avatar. Anyways I really want to see a good FAIR FIGHT without biased refereeing. It wouldn't shatter my heart if Hopkins won, but if he wins via gift decision I will puke.

 

Well, being Welsh and a huge Calzaghe fan I guess I'm going with Calzaghe. I honestly think he has the tools to pull this off as well. Hopkins comments were just to sell the fight but they were out of order. I hope Calzaghe kicks his ass!

 

I don't really care about his racism, nationalism or criminal background as much as I care about what he stands for in boxing:

• Ducked Calzaghe in 2001
• Circle-jerking Supremo
• So arrogant that even way past it he thinks he can beat Calzaghe
• Disrespectful to clearly superior opposition

In conclusion, hubris will be his downfall.

Superior talent? Now or in 2001? In 2001 Hopkins would of bullied him all over the ring and then knocked him out late in the fight, now its a 60/40 Calzaghe I guess.

 

I find it highly ironic that a black man in such a position of authority & respect would say such things lifting the curtains on his true feelings.

I also know their will be vindication come fight night when the white boy outclasses Hopkins to the nth degree though so it's all good.

Hopkins is a FIGHTER. We cannot expect him to be a saint. He's a primative guy. I'm glad he feels he can beat Calzaghe - it shows he still has confidence in himself. As a fighter, believing in yourself is key. It's certainly not an insult that he thinks he can beat Joe. Whether or not he WILL beat Joe is another story all together because he will not.

 

I'm a bit puzzled by this post. Are you saying Joe is anti-American? Where are your sources for this, if so?

I would like to see Hopkins win - But I think he's too old and doesn't have a high enough punch output to beat Calzaghe.

Then again - He's what 9-0 against southpaws?
