Hopkins vs Calzaghe...who do you pull for?!?!

I like both guys....I prefer seeing Joe C fight then Hops. But I would probably root for Hops.

 

Bernard was hyping the fight in both cases (white boy and PR flag).

However, it doesn't matter a hoot who people are rooting for, this is a mismatch. Joe by a WIDE UD or stoppage.

 

Hopkin's "white boy" comment was inappropriate, although I think he was just selling the fight. He still shouldn't have said it, in my opinion. But the flag thing was not something I hold against him. It's not like he just walked up on stage, grabbed a flag, and threw it to the ground. Tito was basically taunting Hopkins by waving the flag in his face. As Hopkins said later, he could not let Trinidad intimidate him in that situation, so he snatched it and threw it down. He and Tito were both trying to play mind games there.

I'm rooting for Calzaghe. I know he'll win, but I hope he'll look good doing it.

 

I cannot wait to see the boring old ******* throwing 4 straight rights a round missing those and getting the absolute shite knocked/slapped out of him...

but not because of the 'ill never lose to a white person comment' that is just pre fight hype to draw attention to the bout and its the only way Hopkins can sell fights in general as hes a boring ******* in the ring for all his big talk

and i don't really take such comments seriously...Toney has said similar thing in the past and gets trained by Fredide Roach so hes hardly a racist....

i just want to see Hopkins lose as hes boring and gets far too much credit for a largely mediocre career....this was one man who deserved to be stripped of his titles after the Tito fight as spent 2 years doing jack **** like fighting Daniels and Haakar etc

Calzaghe arrogant? He didn't even make claims about his p4p status and always backed up his talk in the ring...and he is humble enough to fight hard in a 12th round in a fight he has won against a dangerous guy like Kessler...compare that to Hopkin's arrogant celebrating in between rounds in the Taylor fights, fights he gave away because he was so sure of himself.

I used to love Hopkins, but not being abe to quit before he needed dirty tactics and dubious scoring to win a fight against a guy that doesn't belong in his weightclass and his stupid comments about Calzaghe really let me down.
