Hopkins took him to school. Joe and his dad were frustrated all night. Joe was so frustrated at punching glove and air all night. I remember the convo between joe and his dad after round 11. Dad, wtf are you doing out there? Joe, he's cheating. Dad, I don't ****ing care. You need a ko! CLASSIC!
Calzaghe won 115-112. Hopkins just didn't do enough. He also faked a low blow to buy himself some time because he was gassed out and would have got stopped by the Savage Slaps of Joe Calzaghe if he hadn't decided to audition for the Oscar's at that moment.
Their faces at the end of the fight tell the tale of what happened. You couldn't even tell Hopkins was in a fight and joe looked like he got in a car wreck.
Yeah, because we've never heard a corner their fight that they needed a KO in order to win even if their guy was winning the fight atsch It's called encouragement dummy.
Awful fight. I scored it to Joe first time round by a very close margin & wont ever watch it again. Close fight, couldve gone either way & the post-fight banter was far more entertaining that the fight itself. It was a stinker
It's always faulty logic to use how faces looked at the end of the fight to say who won. If you unequivocally used facial damage to score fights in every situation, than DLH would have beaten Mayweather, Pacquiao clearly beat Marquez the third time, Bradley beat Pacquiao, etc. As people are often fond of saying on this matter (when it suits their argument at least), some people just mark up more easily than others.
Calzaghe either 115-112 or 114-113. I don't see how Hopkins could have gotten 6 rounds in that fight. Boxing fans have this logic that if a fight is close but fighter A won = automatic justified win for fighter B. I've never understood that.
I find it interesting that you simply label me a 'Calzaghe fan' when I'm a Calzaghe fan, Hopkins fan, and boxing fan.
